Tldr: unsatisfactory, we even felt gross. The last hotel we stayed at a week ago was also a Wyndham. Based on that stay I expected a similar stay here. Unfortunately, my expectations were greatly let down. I hope this Wyndham is not indicative of the whole. Immediately upon entering the hotel, it looked old and felt unclean. The last hotel at which we stayed, again, also a Wyndham: the Stonehill Lawrence Trademark Collection in Kansas, granted, it also had a couple of minor problems, but it was fairly new, and felt clean. When checking in the lady at the service deak was kind and inviting. We were told where the pool and breakfast rooms were, but we were not told when breakfast began or ended. Nor were we told the checkout time. On way to our 3rd floor room, the floor tile looked dirty and had cracks. The walls were dirty with dark smudges. The elevator button was difficult to reach, as it was in a small alcove in the wall. The elevator floors had many scuffs, appeared dirty, and metal walls had many oily hand smudges. It really didn't feel like it had been cleaned in days, which was completely opposite of the last Wyndham hotel. When exiting the elevator, the carpet had many stains. Upon entering our room, the air was humid and the air conditioner off. I turned on the AC and eventually the room was cool and comfortable. Like the hallway, the room carpets had stains. We kept our shoes on. The aesthetic was extremely plain, and the room felt small in comparison to our last Wyndam hotel for roughly the same price. Looking out the windows there were stains, not hand prints, but actual stains, and the inside curtain had stains. On the positive side, this hotel did have usb ports which the last Wyndham did not. However, the usb ports were broken and did not charge my phone. It now stands at 13%. Also, the room's alarm clock and microwave clock did not have the time set. Surprisingly, the bathroom appeared clean, but the toliet paper holder was broken and the roll would fall off. Regardless, the room made my daughter and me feel objectively gross. I am a peritoneal dialysis patient. I was worried about connecting myself to the dialysis machine in a sanitary way. The beds were not near as comfortable as at the last Wyndham hotel. However, the pillows were comfortable and smelled clean. Pulling back the covers of both beds, one had a small stain on the matress sheet. However, upon inspection no bed bugs were found in the mattress. The TV was also a problem. It turned on, the volume control worked, but the channels did not change. The remote control also did not have a battery cover. I told the front desk, and the manager quickly came to the room and moved the TV and drawer furniture so the remote could communicate with the remote control box in order the change channels. However, we did have to stretch our arm away from the bed for the remote control to work properly. The last Wyndham hotel had many more channels available that this Wyndham did not. The selection here was disappointing. We were provided the wifi network login information. However, when connected the network said "unsecured." I really want to find some things positive to say about this hotel, but they are hard to find. It is also interesting when I navigate to the Contact Us page, the first sentence is, "Feel free to contact us via email," but nowhere on the page is an email address provided, only a phone number. It was difficult to find this email address and I hope it was correct. The breakfast was as expected. There were waffles, eggs, sausage, cereals, yogurts, bagels, toast, apples, orange juice apple juice, & coffee. The breakfast area appeared clean, but the floors were sticky. Upon exiting with the soiled cart the bumps to get on and off the elevator were so bad some luggage and items fell from the cart. Finally the lady at the front desk never said, "Have a good day" nor did she ask how was our stay. She has two chances to do so. First upon leaving with the cart, and second upon returning the...
Read moreUnless you need a place to stay because of lack of availability for graduation or Family Weekend...DON'T DO IT! First the good: The AC worked great. This is not always the case in less expensive hotels. The location is great too. You could even walk to campus, if needed. Now.... There was no door handle on our bathroom door! I got locked in one time, luckily my husband was in the room so he could open it from the outside. I did report this on our first night there, but no one fixed it. The remote did not have any batteries in it. It took me three trips to the front desk to get a working remote. The guy first sent me back with the wrong size batteries, then gave me a different remote, finally took batteries out that different remote (it didn't work on my tv) and put them in my original remote. We had no maid service! Yes, we did have a "Do Not Disturb" sign up, but took it down and were out of the room by 10 AM. Parking was horrible. The spots were way too small. We got back late on Saturday night. There were probably five spots available, but NONE of them were big enough for a smaller size SUV (Jeep Cherokee...not a Grand Cherokee). I did pull into one spot, but had to move since the guy next to me would have never been able to get out of his car. Many people parked over lines since the spots simply weren't big enough (at least on the south side of the lot). I had to work hard to find an outlet that worked by my side of the bed. They did have a nice dresser with outlets and USB ports, but it didn't work. I ended up having to unplug the main lamp in the room. The bathroom was very run down. The toilet seat needs to be replaced and the grout was coming...
Read moreI hate to rate this a 1 star but feel I must to be honest and fair. Personnel was very friendly upon first entering the facility. Our room, 111 had only dibbles when attempting to use the bathroom sink. We checked to see if it was turned off under the sink as a prank but it wasn't. The front desk did not seem surprised by the lack of water. When we asked to be moved to a room with accomadations we were told that our special handicap request would not be honored. We had to down grade our room to have our handicap needs met with water facilities. No compensation for the down grade. The second room, room 104 needed a good deep cleaning. Anybody could see the mouse path and wall holes. It desperately needs new beds as the beds are unevenly broken down, diffidently can tell where individuals sleep alone. The bathroom had no heat to it. We kept the heat lamp on over night but it still was extremely chilly to shower. The bathroom looked recently remodeled but unfortunately the wallpaper is peeling off and the the mold is forming about the shower. The bathroom set up does not flow. Not worth explaining, just that it is an experience of own. We enjoyed our many visits at multiple Baymonts yearly to and from Az but this one we have added to our personal list as hotels to be avoided. It was nice to see a work out room with up to date equipment, a small in door pool, and a hot tub. The breakfast room was inviting but a bit scattered nothing a person can't deal with. We were quick to leave this hotel. This does not not mean that all the room were needing the care these two...
