I am new to RC cars so I have been doing research on RC cars from the last week. I went to hobby town for the Traxxas Rustler bundle for 189.95 with a NiMH battery two days again but they were out of stock. A blessing in disguise because the bundle come with a car charger for your battery only. I would have to buy an adapter for 24.95 to charge the battery in my house because I would not charge the battery in my car only. The charge time is over an hour and I don’t drive that long, so that battery would take forever to charge if I don’t buy that adapter . So after going to Alamo City Hobby shop today and asking the dumbest strangest questions over and over again. I walked out with the Traxxas Ruslter with a LiPo Battery and a charger that can charge LiPo and NiMH for a $1.15 more then the bundle that come with a car charger and a NiMH battery after taxes. George never pressured me and even kept a smile doing all my weird questions. The better battery and charger is worth the extra dollar and fifteen cents. George also even offered to order the bundle if I wanted to go that route and even waited patiently while I contemplating all the information he gave me. Alamo City Hobby Shop received my business now and in the future because of there knowledge on the product they sell, their customer service and their able to give their customer the best deal. This leads me to believe that when I have a problem with my RC car they will be there to help me get up and running at a fair price because I witness multiple customer coming in to repairs their cars in the store or taken the parts for a...

Listen, in general this is a good hobby shop, especially if you're into cars and trucks.

They have a good variety. They have a lot of parts. They are reasonably knowledgeable about their products.

Pricing is fair, but certainly not cheaper than other options.

I live close, so convenience is the number one factor. This may or may not be the case for you.

I'll finish by adding that it's really unfortunate that the owners have chosen to not require masks, and don't require the staff to wear them either. I think the thing that really left a bad taste in my mouth was hearing a employee make disparaging political remarks to a customer during busy weekend hours.

I'm a small business owner and I've made a commitment to my community that stands outside of my own personal politics and convictions. Furthermore, I would never subject my political views on my paying customers. People don't go to RC shops to hear unsolicited political rhetoric.

I know that cancel culture is a buzzword, so I want to make it clear that I'm not suggesting that people not do business here. If anything I hope this influences the owners to acknowledge that their conduct in the store does have an impact on their bottom line, and the perception of their business.
