The Fenwick Inn — Attraction in Leonardtown

The Fenwick Inn is a beautiful venue that has a touch of history and updated beauty. The gardens are manicured beautifully and it is located conveniently in downtown Leonardtown. Customer service, inflexibility, and professionalism are severely lacking. I have hosted numerous military events, showers, birthdays, etc. and this one takes the cake...

I met with Donna, the owner, 6 days before my event. I was not told how a rescheduled car show from the 5/4/2025 date would severely impact my event with traffic patterns, parking, delays, etc. My contract allowed me to enter the venue at 11 a.m. Instead, she excitedly called me the day of the shower at 8:50 am. to notify me about the Car Show and "make an exception: and allow me in earlier. This news threw me into a tailspin. I live 20 minutes away and was on a strict timetable. Notifying vendors and guests took up a large portion of time that I had not planned for. I am struggling with why a business owner was unaware for two weeks about a rescheduled car show that would impact her business. In addition, during the same meeting, I was told she was unwilling to make a custom cocktail, sandwiched my scheduled appointment between two other customers, and left feeling rushed and confused.

During the event, I was yelled at by Donna, my mother and daughter were yelled at by Donna, and she walked around with a scowl on her face. She was giving a tour to a prospective client during my contracted time and was overheard saying.. "that's -------------, she is a teacher and expects everything done her way." My husband heard her speak to the same client and say "this isn't our usual set up, it usually looks much better," and staff members were overheard by my guests talking about me while they tended the bar.
