Old Bay Chicken Wings at The Rex: The Chuck Norris of Appetizers If Chuck Norris had a culinary alter ego, it would be Rex’s Old Bay Chicken Wings. These wings are not just a dish; they’re a statement. With a flavor profile so bold, it could roundhouse kick blandness right out of the kitchen! First off, the seasoning—their blend of Old Bay packs a punch that even Chuck Norris would respect. It's like the spice blend decided to take a karate class and now it’s throwing high kicks of flavor with every bite. The wings are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside—much like Chuck himself: tough on the outside, but with a heart of gold. Dipping them in sauce? Please. Chuck Norris doesn’t dip; the sauce comes to him. You’ll want to savor these wings straight up, because anything less would be a disservice to their badassery. However, don’t fret: you have a choice of ranch, blue cheese, or both. In conclusion, these Old Bay Chicken Wings are a culinary masterpiece that could probably win a fight against any other appetizer in the room. If you’re looking for a wing experience that’s as legendary as Chuck Norris, look no further than The Rex. Just remember: when you eat them, you’re not just enjoying a snack; you’re channeling the spirit of the ultimate action hero.

I am a musician, and this place is one of the best venues I have ever had the privilege of performing. Being a life long musician, I have toured nationally. One of the challenges in this endeavor is merch cuts, ticket prices, drink prices and specials. Let me tell you, the owners of this place are sensitive and compassionate, they do not take merch cuts, or do any of the other shady things you can see at other venues of this caliber. They offer a premier product at down home prices. So MD is fortunate to have such a special place in our back yard. To the musicians, stop by, support shows, say hi to the owners, buy merch, drinks, thank the bartenders. To the performers, hang out with the fans, clean up after yourselves help keep this place nice. To the owners, thank you for the devotion and stewardship of such a beautiful and historically valuable location in our community. Great food, great drinks if you are in the area, check their website for live music and prepare to be blown away at the value and quality.

We love the Rex. Great food and love being able to look out at Leonardtown Square during festivals and special events. The only thing I don't like about the rex is sometimes it's just so dark and doesnt have enough lighting. I also think that they could clean just a little better. Every once in awhile you smell that moldy smell in the booths. The food is fantastic though and they have some menu items that you can't get everywhere. Great bar and a really cool place to get drinks. The staff is usually great and on point. This last visit was not the best service but they were extremely extremely busy. Will definitely be repeat customers! They also have outside seating and lots of people bring their dogs ive noticed. Try their Mac and Cheese! I also recommend their Burger on the Cuabatta roll pictured here. My husband's favorite is the Patuxent Penne with Shrimp. Also their Breton Bay drink is pictured here.

My coworker and I flew from Atlanta, GA for a business trip. We are brand new to this town and decided to try out a new restaurant. We were seated immediately, which was great but we found out the kitchen was under repair. The menu option was slim to none but we decided to stay and enjoy trivia night. We were dissatisfied with our order, so we decided to pay and leave to go to another restaurant down the street. The waitress gave us our receipts, we paid using the QR code WHICH IS LISTED ON THE RECEIPT. Then, we leave and all we hear is “AY” from a distance.. we proceeded to walk because again we are in a new town. We get to the new restaurant and we were seated. All of a sudden the waitress and the cook appeared from REX and said oh you all didn’t pay. Basically stated that we dined and ditched. They chased us down and didn’t think to look at the computer to see if we paid. Mind you there were customers at both restaurants listening to this nonsense! The manager did not apologize! I felt humiliated and discriminated towards. I called and left a voicemail for the manager. Not only do I want all of my money back including the tip I left, I would like an apology. I’ve never been experience this before. I’d never go back. I wouldn’t recommend it all at. This is how you treat your customers? Or just your black customers?? I really want to know. Mind you the waitress was new, I give her that but the employees that chased us down were not new and you all should no better. No one thought, “hey, let me check the system.. we do give our customers the option to pay online” no you all just decided to chase us down to a new restaurant and straight humiliate us in a new town. We are far away from home and we experienced this horrific night. It literally ruin our night. We lost our appetite and just eat a little at the new restaurant and went back to our hotel. I would’ve stayed around to talk to the manager last night but I have an early flight. Here is some advice REX: make sure your staff is on...

This was our first time here and we were a little confused at the set up at first, but the staff were pleasant and helpful getting us seated. We were first met by Chef Shamal who was just arriving on shift. This man has an awesome personality and energy about him and can tell he's passionate about cooking. He sat with us a minute after finding out it was our first time here and asked if we had any food allergies (huge props to him for thinking of that) and then asked what foods we liked. Shortly after he came out with an appetizer for us to try that wasn't on the menu of crab imperial wrapped with a slice of flank steak, on a palate of cooked kale, carrots and something else I can't remember, and a balsamic reduction. OMG that was amazing! Seriously, if the managers see this, y'all need to put that on the menu sometime, even if it's just a special. My man has got some talent in the kitchen!

Our server Molly was awesome as well. She was on top of everything, bringing refills for our drinks before we needed to ask, but also not so early that they sat getting warm while we finished the first one. Both my wife and I had the Fenwick Reuben with house made chips. Again, awesome food, and a little bit of the blue cheese mousse goes a long way, so don't load a chip with it. My wife doesn't really like spicy food, so she asked for the dressing on the side (it's a Sriracha-1000 island blend). It really didn't have any bite to it, so if you are worried about spicy, I think you'd be safe with it as it comes, but she said her's was delicious even without the dressing. All in all, an excellent dining experience, and we'll definitely...

Overall, it was a okay meal. We were able to seat ourselves and our drink order was taken immediately after we sat down. Waited about 10-15 minutes to order, due to the menu changing since our last visit. Ordered the hummus appetizer, chicken Philly with Mac and cheese (which was a $3 up charge), chickpea buffalo salad with a side of street corn. Appetizer came out with three types of hummus; regular, red pepper, and pesto. The regular and red pepper were great but the pesto was awful. It was an unappetizing green color and tasted like nothing, no pesto and no hummus. Our food came out and my chicken cheesesteak was awesome with lots of flavor and hot. The mac & cheese was not worth a $3 up charge and tasted like it came out of a plastic bag. We also ordered the buffalo chickpea salad and it was literally just salad with warmed up chickpeas doused in buffalo sauce. Wasn’t as advertised because it had no blue cheese crumbles or dressing. The street corn side was decent but not enough seasoning. Was really disappointed by this meal, especially as we used to come here once a week before the pandemic. Very, very sad to see the chips taken off the menu, that was ny personal favorite item especially because fries are a $3 up charge. I wouldn’t recommended coming here for food, but their bar seems to stay...
