D-Squared Collectibles — Attraction in Lewiston

I figured I'd come back here to give an appropriate and well thought out review. On first glance this store looks like a cute little card shop. In reality however it's owned by a sports Chad that'll judge you without even knowing you. Let's talk about my experiences with this store.

My first time checking this place out was simply to scope things out. I looked over some Pokemon cards and then headed on out. Simple enough.

My second time in the store, was to try to gather a bit of information about a box of old sports cards I had. I asked the owner if he could check them out. He was, however, deep into sorting through a load of cards someone else had brought in. He seemed highly annoyed that I wanted some help. He did tell me about an app I could use to get a rough idea about the price of the cards I had. He also went off on a long spiel with a lot of unnecessary information. He seemed annoyed that my fiance and I were even there.

Finally, the 3rd time I was at this store. It was for an event called "Trade Night". I saw the post about it via their Facebook page and I figured sure, why not? Upon entering the store you could clearly tell they weren't properly set up for multiple people coming in. No table space, people sitting on the floor due to a lack of chairs. It was congested. Fine, whatever. I decided to set up shop in the corner near the TV. A nice lady did come over and offer me a chair, the one positive about this place. While sitting there, not one person approached me. During this time I saw the owner muttering something to someone while staring at me, while I was just smiling and looking around. After about 45 mins I decided to head out. In my mind it wasn't a success but oh well, no big deal. When I got home I went on their Facebook page and said that I personally don't know how to socialize but that everyone there seemed very nice. The next day I find out that I had been removed from the Facebook group. In my mind I didn't understand why, I did nothing wrong. Not knowing how to socialize is a me problem, though the shop owners should do everything they can to make everyone feel welcome. They did not. I was a newcomer and I was ignored and judged for no reason. Only go to this shop if you're as big of a sports Chad as the owner. If you're a casual sports fan/TCG collector, prepare to be judged...

Darren is a great person one of the most friendly and personable not to mention honest owners in the industry.

Darren is very knowledgeable concerning the sporting card industry, there’s also selections to choose from the Non sports category as well the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is upbeat and enjoyable enough that you want to go back whenever you can.

Disregard the negative review by JesteR915_ whose real name is Jesse James or Hodgdon whatever, his review is clearly not based on factual interactions w/the owner, staff or patrons, his review has been altered and both times his review is clear he’s the issue and it’s coming from emotional insecurities and childishness.

To leave a negative review here based off from some Facebook drama which he created is childish and shouldn’t be allowed by Google reviews. Clearly the individual has other reviews of the same nature w/regards to other L/A area businesses clearly the person is the problem not necessarily the business!

Jesse mentioned Facebook being the reason for his negative review here, I saw his FB post and it was removed because it went against 207 policy, instead of messaging the owner Jesse chose to inappropriately make a drama post and when his post was removed he came here, gave a negative review and now he’s changed his story again in fact this new rendition of his review is pretty clear;

1. he’s not reviewing he actually came in to case out the store possibly for another shop to get pricing etc… and had no intention of actually interacting…

2. seriously you go to a trade night and the owners mother gives you a chair sets you up w/ food and drink then you make no effort to interact w/other patrons just sit and watch tv…and claim you were selectively judged and cast out? Seriously are you like 2 years old mentally?

Nice shop! Great owners! They are very informative and their prices are really reasonable! He helped me out with lorcana and understanding what I am looking at! He also invited me to their Lorcana league and I am excited to start! He has a large selection of pokemon and Lorcana. I saw he had a lot of sports cards but it’s something I am not super into so I won’t get too far into details with that. My husband found a peice of his childhood there a specific pokemon card he had been looking for ancient mew and it brought his childhood back which made him really happy.
