I will not be affiliated with swindlers. I am canceling my Wyndham membership because they do business with places like this and I have never been more disgusted in my life. my original reservation was with Ramona. Ramada did not have my room type. me to super eight. My original stay at Ramada was $400 with tax for four nights. I got to super eight decided to stay three nights and my total was $400. It was very late when I checked in and with all the running around with my son, the excitement of him being over 2000 miles away from me I did not check to see if I was given the member rate. They did not ask me if I was a member and I assumed Ramona told them I was a member since I booked my reservation Ramada and they are the ones who sent me to super eight. I went to my room and look up online the super eight rates and realized I was not charged the correct amount for being a member. I made a reservation so that I could get for the member rate for the rest of my stay. The front desk told me they could not help me with my rates and would not allow me to check in under the cheaper rate. Instead, they canceled my reservation with the cheaper rate and still try to charge me the full cancellation for the whole stay. My bank froze my card because they realized the transaction looked fraudulent, because of the two charges from the same hotel. They notified me the charge was ran. The hotel knew they were trying to charge me for the other two nights of the cheaper rate as well. While my card was frozen the things that needed to come out pertaining to my son school go through. I had to go back to the school to get all of that situated my card unfrozen and it was a big mess because they were trying to charge me again. The room was not clean the entire time I was there. There is no breakfast. there were hairs on the walls in the bathroom. The microwave did not work. I had to eat cold food. I took pictures and videos of everything and am contacting Windham for resolution. I will never stay at this hotel again nor will my family when we come visit my son. I am going to look for another hotel chain to join membership. the only reason why I joined Wyndham membership it was because I knew I would be going back-and-forth from Texas to Maine to visit my son and so would my family, but I will not with this kind of treatment and inconsistency. They talked so much about Ramada not being a good hotel and they’re not nothing on them. They said their rooms were better than Ramada. They only wanted to get me for my money. And charge me the most they could. I still have not gotten a receipt that I asked for at checkout. They refused to print one. The pictures you see where they charged me the full reservation as soon as I left the desk to ask them to change my rate. You see my call with the bank to sort all this mess out and unfeeze my card. The holes in the blankets. The broken microwave, the hairs on the towels and bathroom walls. They did not even tell me they had an elevator and they watched me with bags struggle with the stairs. I stayed at a Marriott and I am going to join their membership and stay with them every time I visit and so...
Read moreI give them 2 stars for a few reasons. Their rooms arnt that great as far as the newer modern look. Some of the beds are old some are new. But they are protected with protectors. The lamp shades are stained and have either dents or holes in them. The rooms have carpeting in them and you can tell they dont vacuum their room carpets often if at all because you can see dirt and debris in corners and up along the base of the walls where wall and floor meet. Carpets are not good at all for people with allergy problems (such as myself). Some of the bathrooms in certain rooms have like duct tape to cover up holes on the floor or a part of the flooring that's coming up they use duct tape to try to keep it down. Some of the showers it looks like pieces of the tub are chipped and you can feel like soft spots when you standing in the shower giving that feeling that you might fall thru the tub at that soft spot. The heating/air condition units are dirty and old. There's cob webs in the ceiling corners. Some rooms have smears of whatever it is on the walls that should be washed off but apparently were not. They dont change the blankets or quilts. They only change the bed linen (fitted sheet and flat sheet and pillow cases) pillows dont have pillow protectors on them so you can see drewl stains on them. They do have large flat screen tvs and a mini fridge and microwave in the rooms. They do have free breakfast in the morning. Its a continental type breakfast (bread for toast, waffle maker, 2 types of cereal, coffee, bananas, yogurt, hot cocoa or sometimes oatmeal, orange juice or apple juice in pitchers, milk in a pitcher) their customer service is ok. They are polite but when you call for like an extra pillow or towel or whatever they make you come down to grab it rather than them delivering it to you at your room. The housekeeping lady/ladies however will give you whatever you need if you jus ask. They are kind and polite. Its not the best motel I have been in and I feel they should upgrade their rooms to the more modern up to date look (especially with how much they be charging per night!!) They should definitely rip out that carpeting and replace it with hard flooring for people who are sensitive to dust mites and whatever else that settles in carpeting. Carpets also hold in odors. And they should be changing and washing the blanket and comforter jus as they would when they change the sheets!!!! That's gross! Like you don't who slept in that last and if that person was dirty or had a skin condition that's catchy or if people have sex on them. You know that's jus gross. IF YOU'RE GONNA CHANGE THE BEDDING WITH CLEAN SHEETS YOU SHOULD BE CHANGING THE WHOLE ENTIRE BED...BLANKET AND QUILT TOO!!!...
Read moreWe stayed two nights at this Super 8 in Lewiston, ME. The room had been recently renovated—spare but pleasant décor—and it was clean. The bed was comfortable and the bedside lights were good and had both regular plugs and USB ports for charging. There were actual blackout shades on the window. The bathroom was spacious with new fixtures, and the vanity mirror was excellent. The Wi-Fi was fine. We didn’t partake of the breakfast. |So why only two stars? Let’s start with the basics. This was a handicap accessible unit and there was a very nice shower with only a small lip and there was a bath chair. But the description of the room in the Super 8 confirmation says it has an … adjustable hand-held shower wand… Nope. The shower head was fixed high on the wall with the controls under it, making it impossible for someone to use this sitting on the shower stool. The bathroom fan was not strong enough to clear out the steam. I will add that this accessible room is right when you come in the outside door and is across the corridor from the ice machine and a washer and dryer that can be used by guests, so it definitely isn’t in a quiet area. |Then ask yourself how many times do you want to go to the reception desk for assistance with things that you shouldn’t have to ask for help with? The covers on the buttons on the heat/AC unit were worn so not clear which ones controlled which operations. The light on the desk was not plugged in and the cord wouldn’t reach the only visible outlet. And, by the way, there is only one chair in the room clearly designed for double occupancy. When the TV was turned on, it should have gone directly to a welcome screen and the channel up and down buttons on the remote should have worked, but….that wasn’t what happened. There was also a second remote that didn’t operate the TV either. The confirmation also says there is a hair dryer in the room but there wasn’t. Need another roll of toilet paper or want a Do Not Disturb hangtag for the door—back to the front desk. When we came back to the motel after dinner, and wanted to park near the door, there was a car in a handicap spot without the required hangtag. When I told this to the twenty-something clerk on duty, he said it was his car!!! My take on this is that there is a distant owner who hired some kids to run the place and they really don’t have any vested interest in paying attention to any of these details. There was a plaque in the lobby indicating that this motel won an award from Super 8 for the renovation, but clearly no one from Super 8 checked to see if the rooms actually matched the room description and were...
