Update:18JUN2022.
Updating to 4 stars based on a follow-on visit to the same location. We scheduled an earlier (11:00AM) visit with the return flyer voucher was purchased after our first visit. The online scheduling and waiver process was simple and quick. The day of the visit we were quickly received and the block of instruction was abbreviated since he was 1 on 1 with the instructor and had previously flown. We did opt for an add-on package for $39.99 which permitted for two high flights, upgraded helmet (G3), and a voucher to download two videos. This was done without overt or pressured upselling like the first time.
The instructor combined the four flights time into two flights with hi-fly which was okay as it made for less start and stop. The G3 mask is a worthwhile upgrade as the flier stated that the face mask made the flight more enjoyable. So even if you purchased it seperated for $10 it would be worth it. I'm on the fence with the hi-flys being an upgrade for return fliers because if you are purchasing return flights most of your time will be spent near the ground with the instructor working on body position. If a flyer can hold form it would preferred that they wouldn't have to upgrade to be more than 4 feet off the ground.
Overall the experience was better than the first time, mostly due to not being pressured into upgrading or being worked into a large group.
First Visit 15JUL2021
We purchased a two-flight package as a Christmas present and recently made the two hour drive to redeem it. Make sure you book well in advance as slots fill up pretty quickly, and packages that include weekends cost more. Also we noticed that the price at the door was more than the price online, but it may have went up since we purchased our gift certificate.
The staff was friendly, but there was definitely some attempts at upselling, both to us when checking in (upgrade to include the high fly) and to my kid while in their instructional block.
We booked for a single person but were lumped in with another group of people. The flight instruction took about 15-20 minutes. During the groups flights they kept working in other fliers from outside the group. While it was neat to see the more experienced folks it definitely aggravating to see a person in the group fly for 45 seconds and then have those folks outside the group fly for 2.5 min, the next beginner flyer in the group fly for 45 seconds and then back to the experiences fliers for another round of 2.5 minutes with this alternating-pattern occurring the entire time. It was a bit disappointing to see the kids faces to be expecting their turn to see two adults cut-line/worked-in repeatedly. I'm sure there wasn't any poor intent, but it definitely changed our travel timelines. We later determined that the $20 upgrade for the high-fly was money saved when we opted not to get it. Fliers who did opt for the upgrade went about 8-10 feet up. From ground to up to ground again was about 5 seconds.
Overall the experience was unique, but not really what...
Read moreBEWARE! I booked 4 flights for myself and my fiancé 1 month ago, birthday present. After watching a video and getting suited up, we, and another couple were told we could not experience the ‘high flight’ we had booked because the instructor assigned to our group was not certified for ‘high flights’. We were told my the Manager, Patrick Hagens, that we could only be levitated at waist length for the $300 that we invested! Another certified instructor could not be reassigned to our group, because “they are guaranteed a break” according to ‘company policy’, and the remainder of the day had reservations. It appears incompetent to schedule a non certified instructor with ‘high flights’ thru out the day. We cannot be the only disappointed customers today! We all spent 4 hours driving and $300 to be told we could ‘fly’ at waist level. This is a poorly managed organization, whose brief ‘fly’ product is deceiving, particularly for the price charged. A refund can only be authorized by the Regional Director, whom the Manager will contact after our unhappy, premature departure. A ‘flight’ appears to be 1-2 minutes, waist level, not the “90 minute experience” they falsely advertise! BEWARE! The reason adults drive 2 hours is to experience the ‘high fly’ to the top of the wind tunnel, simulating a free fall from a plane. Kids are probably fine holding an instructor’s hand and being blown off their feet at waist level. Oh yea, there is an additional charge for the ‘high flights’ that you probably thought was part of the package. When asked to speak to the Manager, Patrick Hagans immediately displayed his managerial incompetence by telling the 4 of us that we could not ‘high fly’ today. The instructor HE assigned to our group is not certified in ‘high flights’. He would NOT change certified instructor’s ‘breaks’ to accommodate us. He would NOT rearrange groups and put us in a group with a ‘high fly’ instructor, moving non ‘high flight’ kids into our group. His perpetual answer was “No, I can’t help you”. It seems his credentials to be in this position should be checked. Why they schedule non certified instructors on the floor all day is unfathomable! Fellow adventurers: BEWARE!
PS…Please don’t submit a canned apologetic reply asking me to talk to the Manager….’He’ was the problem!!!! His answer was: “No you can’t high fly today. There is nothing I can do...
Read moreI’ve had indoor skydiving on my bucket list for a while now and it was so nostalgic to finally go and the wait was definitely worth it. Located in the Liberty Township plaza is a family friendly is a indoor attraction that will certainly satisfy all of your dare Devil dreams. On my recent visit me and my kiddos enjoyed the 2 flight super saver. Our reservation was on a Sunday afternoon and there were a decent amount of people but it wasn’t heavily over crowded. Since it was our first time I had called ahead a few days prior to ask some questions about the prices, flights and what to expect on our visit. The young lady who answered my call was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. With the super saver offer we saved $20 off of two flights. There are options for add ons such as photos, videos and higher flights.
IT’s recommended to arrive 20 min early to complete the check in process which is confirming your reservation, getting weighed and signing your waiver (waivers are also emailed to you as an option for pre check). Each person flying is required to watch a video to go over safety and hand signals. You are then given your flight gear which is a suit, glasses, helmet and shoes are available too if needed. There is an enclosed seating area that you wait in with your group which has a monitor to allow you to watch the replay of your flight(s).
On average you will spend between $70-$100 per person depending on if you’re able to get a super saver deal and/or if you purchase add ons. The flights are about 1 minute long and you will initially fly waist level with your instructor or have the option to soar higher for $20 up charge. Your instructor will even give you the option to add on the soar higher option while you are waiting for your flight in case you change your mind after you suit up.
There is a area you can take photos and two small vending machines also. With this location being inside Liberty Township Center is nearby shopping and restaurants to make it a fun day trip for the whole family. Our family traveled from Cleveland and we dined at Taste of Belguim before our iFly experience and the Rusty Bucket afterwards, both are located inside the Liberty Township plaza and have great food. Overall I had an amazing time. Yes it’s a little pricey but in my opinion it’s totally worth it and I look forward to...
