We began our evening with Guacamole and chips. I was happy to dig in because I arrived hungry. The guacamole had large chunks of avocado, but the onion and jalapeño were diced quite small. They provided the perfect bursts of flavor in each bite without being overwhelming. I ordered the burger (not veggie, beef for me!) and my dad ordered a salad. We love to get different items and then share so we can try more. The servings were generous - the perfect size for me! The salad was absolutely loaded with seasoned chicken, goat cheese, avocado, tomato, dates and almonds. And the bed of greens were fresh and provided a great crunch! It was fun to have a salad with dates as I don't see that on many menus. And it was so good!! And the burger was even better! Don't be fooled by the simple toppings. This was one of the better burgers I've had in quite a while for two reasons - the patty was juicy and it was so well seasoned! It was absolutely bursting with flavor! I feel that so many places rely on their toppings, so the beef patty is flavorless. But this beef patty here spoke for itself! It's amazing how clean and open the kitchen is. You can see into the kitchen from the windows. It was also great to learn that the only things they don't make themselves are the hamburger buns and the tortillas for the burritos. But they make their salad dressings, pizza crusts, baked goods and the rest of the menu themselves every day. Also, sourcing the ingredients is very important to them. If it's not local, it's organic. And if it's not organic, it's the most tip of the line they can find. Considering the affordable menu prices, that's amazing and definitely makes me want to return. On our way back to our tables, we stopped at the counter to gawk at the beautiful and enormous cookies. Again, dad and I shared. He got double chocolate chip and I got regular chocolate chip. But there were also oatmeal raisin and peanut butter! This is a great place to bring the whole family. There are great options for everyone, there's plenty of space, a beautiful and laid-back atmosphere, hair chairs for the little ones, friendly service and they carefully source all of their ingredients (they make essentially everything in house and buy local and organic). I'm so grateful to have Northstar here in Cincinnati. And this location will be the perfect pit stop on our frequent drives to and from Dayton.

Email I just sent to the restaurant: I had to write to tell you about the exceptional wait staff at the Liberty Center location. My wife and I stayed at the AC Hotel this weekend and stopped by North Star Cafe for breakfast on Saturday. The restaurant was packed. However, the wait staff was very fast, professional, and friendly! There was a slight delay in getting part of our order out, but I was rewarded with a complimentary drink coupon for the “inconvenience”. We enjoyed our experience so much that we came back again for breakfast on Sunday. We needed a table cleaned off and a staff member, whose job wasn’t to clean off tables, quickly cleaned our table with a smile. While eating, I saw a young lady staff person who didn’t currently have an assignment, walking around looking for something to help with. She ended up clearing a table and getting water for some customers. I was amazed. Someone her age typically would be looking at their phone until given an assignment by their manager. It was also nice to see this location was fully staffed, and could quickly handle an influx of customers. To top this all off, the restaurant was clean, beautifully designed, and the music was playing at a perfect volume. This restaurant has checked every box in offering an amazing, quality meal experience with service and staffing that is RARE in this post-pandemic world. I had to write to say “THANKS!”

Went for lunch and the food was pretty good. I will say it is pricey for a lunch spot. Was $65 for two sandwiches and 2 drinks. The chicken avocado was great and the rice was really nice. The Thai burrito was just kind of meh and for the price getting 5 tortilla chips as a side and over half of it being rice was disappointing. All the textures were soft and the flavors weren't really there. It needs some crunch to break up the soft rice, soft chicken, and soft carrots. Outside of that the food came at different times. One was done then 10 minutes later the other (this was happening to every table so it seems to be the norm). When you're having lunch with someone it's a bit inconvenient. Atmosphere is nice though (besides the lights being almost directly at eye level blocking your view of the person your with), the kitchen looks amazing and well kept, and the employees were very kind. Not bad overall but not great and the burrito for 15+ that's all rice and 5 chips is just really frustrating.

This is one of our treat yo self restaurants to dine at. The service is quick, and they have quality execution of their dishes. We ordered: 1. Moscow mules, these were prepared well and tasty. (5/5 🌟) 2. Biscuits these came hot out of the oven and were 🔥. (7/5 🌟 ) 3. Margherita 🍕 this was also fresh out of the oven and had great flavors. The little ones loved the additional cheese on the top. (4.5/5 🌟) 4. Chicken budda bowl, if you enjoy healthy bowls brimming with veggies and tastiness, this is for you. (7/5 🌟) 5. Chicken Sandwich, this was my go-to order every time we would visit. The different elements of this sandwich pair nicely and make it top of the line. (7/5 🌟) 6. Fries 🍟 better than your average fry. We enjoyed these. (4/5 🌟) If you are ok spending a little extra for quality and unique dishes, then this is a restaurant to try.

The place looked nice and cozy, but I wasn't nearly prepared for the frontal assault on my tongue. I got the Chicken and Avocado Sandwich and it was very possibly the most delicious sandwich I have ever had!!! The depth and culmination of a symphony of flavors was beyond heavenly and the side of wild rice was just as delectable! If you're a savory over sweet type of person and you decide to settle of the Chicken and Avocado Sandwich, I recommend you eat the wild rice first before the sandwich. I noticed the rice tasted funny after the sandwich. Again, SPECTACULAR food! Complaint: My only complaint is that the utinsels we're not very well washed. I pulled a knife out of the cup and it had dried remnants of the previous meal along the length of the blade. Besides this, everything was AMAZING!

Music so loud. Everyone wore their earbuds to maintain sanity. Can’t enjoy the overpriced meal. Hey, but the price, one gets to go up and order it at the counter! Mmm. Got nothin’ on Mac Donald’s ! Mmmm want me some Mickey D’s! $15 10” cheese pizza. $21 cheeseburger and fries. $16 house salad (lettuce, cabbage and very vinegary dressing). Nothing too special. Saw the waiter once when the food was brought to the table. Why not just give us a number and call it out over the PA system? (In keeping with the cafeteria theme). That’s the age we are in now. Refill on water? Go get it yourself! Tip… 20% added to the bill (we had 6+ in our party). Which is standard. Don’t mind if someone was actually serving us! (By denigration, there should’ve been a 20% discount to the bill. ).
