I had reservations at TCF at Liberty Center, where I was hosting a birthday dinner with my friends. We had the most awful experience from start to finish, to the point where I was apologizing profusely to my friends by the end for picking a place with such horrendous service. It took us 45 minutes to be seated for reservations I had for several weeks. It then took another 30 minutes for us to get our beverages and our bread. We only received our bread when the waitress walked by our table and heard us talking about how bad the service has been tonight, and we hadn’t even placed our orders yet. Our waitress, Shy, had a horrible attitude from the start— when she came up to greet us she was in the middle of complaining about the table she had prior. She also sat down in the booth to take our orders, which I thought was strange. Chaos ensued from this point; my friends were getting the wrong orders, or some of their orders never even came out. The manager came by and promised to comp those things, but still tried to charge them for it by the end. Even when everyone actually received the dish they ordered, they weren’t properly prepared. My friend ordered a medium well burger and they sent it out incredibly pink in the middle. Another friend said her spaghetti and meatballs were spicy. Not to mention my friend who simply just never received her entree, and the manager came by claiming the sauce was burnt so they had to remake it. She didn’t get her food for another 30 minutes from that point. Our waitress never came to check for refills and was just generally extremely inattentive to a 7 person party (who they had plenty of time to prepare for). By the time checks came out, they couldn’t get the checks right to save their lives. When we told Shy the checks weren’t right, she rolled her eyes, threw her hands up in frustration and stormed off to the kitchen area mumbling under her breath. The manager came back over and repeatedly went around to each person to check what items we ordered, and would come back again with the checks STILL not being correct (and also trying to charge my friends for items they said they would comp for the inconvenience). Mind you, at this point, our cheesecakes hadn’t even come out yet and they were trying to charge us for it. It took them printing the checks out 5 times to finally get everything right. The manager did not seem apologetic for the awful service we received and was generally unfazed by how upset everyone was. It was hands down the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. My friends were apologizing profusely to me as I was apologizing to them because this restaurant completely ruined my birthday celebration. I left feeling embarrassed and defeated. Half my friends sat there with food they couldn’t eat, and the check situation really had everyone irritated seeing as it went on for nearly an hour. I usually have a great experience at TCF, but this was truly terrible. Never going back to this location....
Read moreIf I could give a minus zero, I would. Me and my daughter went into the restaurant today and we were seated at the day at the smallest booth at the entrance. I asked the host if I could be seated at another booth. She responded and told me that it would be a 15 min wait due to no server's available. The restaurant was almost EMPTY. I could count about 5 tables that had people dining. I was very hungry. So I asked if we could have a table instead of a booth. While she began to look at her sitting chart. This lady appears out of no where. I asked her if she was the manager. She responded Yes. I asked if I could be seated at a table due to not being able to sit at a bigger booth. Amanda is her name. She began to tell me that I was rude . I was being rude to her employees. I was being LOUD. I was being AGGRESSIVE. I looked at her in complete shock because NONE of this was true. Not in my tone , language, or body language. I asked her how was I being rude and what did I say. She said that she wasn't going to get into it with me or explain what she meant. I was completely confused. I stood there and took a deep breath and said may I have your name. She replied Yes, and I'll write it down for you. Amanda. I've dine at Cheesecake Factory all over the US. I have NEVER ever received this type of treatment. When I asked her for her name she said I'm not going to be able to service you and I'm going to have to ask you to leave. Please note that my mind was ALREADY made up that I was leaving this restaurant. I am a Proud Black Woman. Yes. Yes. Yes. I felt the racism and I don't throw this word around lightly. Never was I loud. Never was I rude. Never was I aggressive. Amanda White. Both of the host were white. Both of the young women knew that I wasn't being aggressive with them. They simply put their heads down when I asked them if I was being Rude to them. Amanda the manager took a very AGGRESSIVE stand against me immediately without knowing any part of the conversation that I had with the host. I simply asked for a table. I will NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN. CHEESECAKE FACTORY PLEASE BE AWARE OF AMANDA. She needs some training. I'm still upset about how me and my daughter were treated. I told her. I don't need you to ask me to leave because I'm leaving. I left the restaurant and apologized to my daughter for how we were treated. She said "no mom, you don't have to apologize. She was wrong and rude. A customer should be able to ask for...
Read moreWe were there last night with a party of nine. We had reservations, so we were sat right away and the hostesses were friendly and accommodating. Our server was attentive, efficient and friendly. This review is only about my meal specifically. I had been on the website and looked at the meals in advance. I was going to order either the Steak Diane or the Chicken Madiera. Last minute I switched it up to the Chicken Bellagio, because I hadn't had a good pesto in awhile. That was a mistake. In the photo of the dish on the website the cream sauce is visible in both the pesto pasta and on the chicken. I believe whomever cooked my dish completely forgot the cream sauce and the expo missed this as well. Our waitress brought me a side dish of the cream sauce. The lightly breaded "crispy" chicken was soggy, gooey, bland and the breading just completely came off when put to fork and knife. The pasta lacked the cream sauce and was greasy, but dry at the same time. I separated the arugula and prosciutto salad onto another plate and ate that standalone. I ate maybe three bites of the main dish. I've worked in some capacity, in the service industry, as a server, bartender or management for 25 years. I will only send a dish back if there are mistakes, such as items I requested not to be included or over/undercooked. I will not send a dish back simply because I do not like it. It was terrible though. Soggy chicken, greasy dry pasta and just bland. When the waitress brought togo boxes I told her, when going to a new restaurant or place I haven't been in a long time, I usually give the server my options and ask them to give me what they would order from the options... because if I had, I'm sure you would not have ordered this. Unsurprisingly she stated, "No I wouldn't have." Pretty much everyone else at our table seemed to enjoy their meals. This review is simply for my meal alone. All of the staff was very...
