My wife and I decided after a long day we would stop in for a beer and to split a pizza. The server knew nothing about the beer. This is odd for a place that prides themselves in the craft beer selection. So we chose one and waited about 20 minutes. We still had not had our orders taken for food. Then a manager comes over and says "I heard you wanted to try some beers." We said we just wanted the beers we ordered and she proceeds to tell us that they are taking all of the beer kegs off line as we speak to switch them over for new beers for some sort of event. She offers us a new list of beers that are being tapped. (Why would you take every craft beer offline at the same time and not do one at a time?) My wife asked how long it will be before the new kegs are ready because we have to be somewhere in an hour. The manager replied sarcastically "well it doesn't take an hour to tap a keg" my wife said how long does it take. The woman replied 15 minutes. this sounded reasonable so we look at the new beer list which was written in chicken scratch. We put our food order in and waited for them to come back and asked us which beer we had decided on. The pizza arrived and still no one came back to get our drink order. 45 minutes went by and I went to the bathroom and saw the same manager sitting at a table joking with other employees. Our pizza came out finally. They gave us one plate. The pizza was cold. The server never checked us to see if we needed our waters refilled the entire time we were there. We told our server we wanted our check. The bill was $12 and we put down a 20. He took the 20 brought back our receipt and said have a nice day without giving us any change. I assume he thought he was getting an $8 tip. We have to ask for a change. This experience definitely made a rough day worse. I can't suggest this...
Read moreIt was my first experience at Pies and Pints and I was EXTREMELY impressed! I went with my sister and mom so it was a party of 3. We went late on a Saturday afternoon, and only waited a few minutes for the table to get cleaned. The host were nice and our server was really friendly. She always had a smile on and was proactive with the refills. There was a slight issues with our pizza though. We ordered a half and half and one half was made incorrectly. The manager came out to apologize and let us know that he was very sorry and that he was getting a 10" of the right half coming. He was very friendly and we weren't in a hurry so we didn't mind either. We had also ordered a salad and the pizza came out before. Again it wasn't that big of deal to us, but the manager came out and took care of pizzas and salads. I couldn't believe it honestly. I have worked in a restaurant for 5 years and I have never been that impressed with a restaurant. The managers were nice and took care of the issue right away. Before it was even an issues they were all over it. LITERALLY THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD WHILE DINING OUT IN A WHILE. It was so nice that the managers were on top of situation. On an atmosphere side it was a little loud but it was just because they were so busy. Saw a lot of kids and it looked like a great place for parents and kids. They are always really busy but I will definitely be going back and I want to give a huge shout out to the staff and managers! Great job and keep doing what you...
Read moreCalled ahead 10 minutes before arriving and was told we would be able to be seated immediately. We walk in with our family of four, and the restaurant is maybe 1/4 full, and we’re told it’s a 20 minute wait. We have 2 kids under 3, waiting in a lobby is an adventure with kids that small. At a table we can entertain them a little easier.
We made it clear we’re willing for it to be slow and still pay for a meal and tip well. And we were told that it “didn’t meet their standards.” The manager who spoke with me wasn’t gracious or the least bit respectful, nor apologetic. I never raised my voice, and i never gave her a tone. I just expressed my frustration, and got stared at blankly.
A word of advice. Your standards should be to make money. I understand you are short staffed and am more than willing to be patient. I’ve managed pizza restaurants, and worked with short staffs. It’s stressful, but it’s doable.
Turning away paying customers that drive a half an hour just to come to your specific restaurant over any others is kind of ridiculous.
Restaurant wasn’t even half full. They had a FULL LOBBY of people waiting to sit down, when there are tables open.
Just be honest with your guests that it might be slow, and give them the option of being patient with the service.
I can’t believe we had to go settle for Sbarro inside...
