Verbiage matters: went here to get my screen fixed and the dude working on it broke my ear piece. They told me, “Not to worry, we’ll just order you a new phone. The speakerphone did work however, the good thing is, I have heard hearing, and I rely on the speakerphone anyway. But I did tell my partner I would send him the new iPhone. Promised to me… I received it and… yea.. it was in a plastic bubble wrapped bag with scuff markings around the camera. Then he later told me “nahh man, it was a mint condition phone…” I’m discouraged. Not to mention my new screen is an aftermarket screen and now I have a consistent alert on my phone telling me the hardware is not made by Apple. Plus I paid for the “repair.” I won’t come here again. Said it’d be an hour but really was about 2hours and 15mins. Not a place to come to ask questions either because the guy that was working on my phone was talking under his breath - if you don’t like your job don’t work there. Plain and simple…

Unfortunately, this has been the second time this month that we’ve arrived early at Batteries Plus Bulbs to have several watch batteries replaced, only to find the store still closed well after the posted opening time of 9:00 AM. It's now 9:30, and no staff member has arrived to assist us. Even more frustrating is that we’ve watched five other vehicles pull into the parking lot hoping for service—only to leave because no one was there. While we understand that delays can happen occasionally, this is becoming a pattern. We've made several visits over the past few weeks, and each time we’ve faced either delays or inconsistencies with store hours. It’s extremely disappointing when customers take time out of their day only to be met with a locked door and no communication. We hope the franchise owner takes this feedback seriously, as dependable service and punctuality are key to customer trust and satisfaction and repeat business.

I’m all for paying a premium for specialty stores but this place just blatantly rips you off. We were close so stopped in for a fob battery, asked for 2 of the cr2450 batteries…$16 for two batteries, each clearly marked as “not for individual sale” but they cut them off a pack of 5 obviously. I’ve ordered a 10 for $8 so I won’t have this problem again.

If I could give them no stars I would. I had broken my phone screen on the 27th of April and my insurance company told me to take the phone to these guys. I called ahead and was told that they had my screen so I made an appointment for later that day. When. I arrived I was told that they didn't have the screen in stock and the closet one was in Lee Summit and I could go there or they could have it brought to their store in a couple days. I live an hour north and not wanting to drive another hour south I agreed to leave my phone there. I called in a couple days later to be told that the manager knew about my phone being there but hasn't ordered my screen and I would need to call at around 8 am to talk with the manager to find out any kind of information cause the person who answered the phone knew very little. Called at 8:30am the next day and no one answered, tried calling over and I over during the morning hours spread out through many days just to either get no answer or to be told the manager wasn't there and they had no info about my repair. Called my insurance company and they told me that the screen should have been fixed same day, mind you today is May 15th almost 18 days later. When I arrived the same person that was running the store when I initially dropped my phone off was there and told me the manager never ordered my screen and he had no idea why. So no I have to call my insurance company and give them the information and see if there is another place to get the repair.

TLDR. If you are sent there for a repair be prepared to leave your device for many weeks, just to be told the manager never ordered your part and no other employee has the athority to do so. The manager apparently doesn't do his job or even really work there. If you need a repairs done or anything done and you are sent here tell your insurance company you would rather use another repair center as the employees of this store will just...

EXTREMELY rude service. Some people are saying "go when Joe is working"... Well you know what? I don't know who Joe is or when he works and I shouldn't have to. I have a feeling that person I just dealt with was the owner / manager and if that's the case he deserves to go out of business. ZERO customer service skills.

My husband bought a bulb here and when he took it out of the box at home you could immediately hear it making noise (burnt out or somehow broken on the inside). I went to return and exchange the bulb and this guy asked why. I told him the bulb doesn't work and it's broken. He started shaking the bulb and then said he was "confused" because it sounds like it's broken because someone dropped it. Basically he was implying that my husband dropped the bulb and it broke. I was standing right there so I know that's not what happened. This asshat just didn't want to do an exchange for a burnt out / non working bulb.

He did eventually exchange it but he was soooo rude and insulting about it. He accused us of lying and saying the bulb was defective when we actually broke it. (We didn't.) By the way, we came here one other time before and bought a much less expensive bulb which also didn't work. We didn't bother returning that one. I would bet anything he'll put the bulb I just returned back on the shelf and try to sell it again... Hoping the next person won't bother to return it.

Just an absolutely horrible xperience all around. We will...

Clerk named David tried to upsell my elderly father on batteries. He needed 4 batteries and he said the only thing they had was a pack of 20. I walked around the corner and found a pack of 8. Wanted to take my dads cash over his credit card. Then tried to pretend he gave him his change back when he didn’t. When I confronted the clerk named David on his shady behavior I told him we wouldn’t be coming back he said good we don’t need your business. If I would have ever said that to a customer when I was in customer service I would have been fired on the spot. He refused to give me his managers name and would only direct me to corporate. He also didn’t want to give me his name but relented and then demanded my name which is none of his business. I haven’t been in such a messed up customer service situation in a long time even though things are bad everywhere this tops them all. Don’t go here and especially if your elderly. I can only imagine what my dad would have went though had I not been present....
