RTB Gym — Attraction in Lincoln Park

RTB stole my money! I paid $20 for a one week membership since I’m only in town visiting family. The worker who took the payment never made my account and made up a fake membership number. I paid the $20 on 06/28/25 and worked out that Saturday night. I went back to workout on Monday 06/30/25 and input the membership number given to me in the computer and it didn’t work. I explained to the woman at the desk that I paid for a one week membership on Saturday and she could not find my name or phone number in the computer. I asked her to check the footage from the camera pointing right at the desk and she refused. The footage would have shown me handing over the $20 bill and also show me working out on Saturday night. I asked her if I could receive a refund once she saw the monetary transaction on the camera and she in a very snotty way said “I’m not giving anybody any money back, I can tell you right now”. Staff was nice, but the environment is gross... Some notes here Did not see any wipes to wipe down any equipment Equipment is probably as old as me and falling apart (20+ years) No private showers The only way to dry your hands is an electric dryer that probably cost them $20 and takes 5 minutes to dry your hands(realistically, 2 min) Membership price is $30 a month (150 for 6) but for the environment, it should be around 15-20. Signs posted everywhere regarding faulty equipment/building

Maybe I'm just spoiled with less expensive more updated gyms....though more populated, still a better experience.

This place needs to live up to its name. Especially for the price.

Great atmosphere, they have upgraded their restrooms/locker rooms and are actually cleaned and maintained. Equipment is maintained and working and if it isn't, there are signs posted that they are working on fixing them. This is the type of gym that planet fitness hates! But I love it! I just recently signed up and coming from a Power House Gym (what this gym used to be) member of 7 yrs, I can appreciate the hard work and dedication that the new owner is/continuing to put in to this gym to give us a fun, clean and safe environment to workout in!

The only reason why I did not give this gym 5 stars is because some tread mills feel like the motor is going out and the belt skips when you are trying to run, it's pretty annoying. Maybe...
