Update on 1/20/2025: See the totally unprofessional response from the owner of the Lincoln Park location. Without words. A&W corporate social media team, see the screenshot. I cannot even believe it. That is disgusting and you should fire the store manager there pronto and whoever else shares their “blame the customer” mindset. No, I don’t work at A&W in Taylor or at any fast food establishment, for that matter. But in seeing your nonsensical response, Lincoln Park A&W, I will now urge people to never visit your accursed plot of earth ever again. You just destroyed your own reputation by your very own sheer lack of professionalism. The proverbial falling on your own sword. Updated to a one-star rating across the board. Good riddance to ya! — Original review: Extremely slow, understaffed, and underwhelming—this is not the classic A&W experience. It took 15 minutes for a 9-burger order. The Taylor Eureka Road is much better staffed and far more efficient. There it usually takes just 5-10 minutes flat and there we also will generally also order fries and coneys as well (in addition to the burgers in about the same quantity) in our orders. I am really questioning the 4.4-star rating here. Maybe the rose-colored nostalgia goggles, the fact you order with an old-fashioned microphone-equipped menu board in your vehicle, has people rating wrongly? In either case, the management here needs to seriously train up and staff up their employee pool! Onto the food, the burger meat and bacon on the bacon cheeseburgers were dried out and grossly underseasoned. It was neither juicy nor flavorful like the previously noted Taylor location. We saw just teens in back, wet behind the ears, struggling to keep up with just three vehicles in the parking lot. The previously noted Taylor location usually has three times the traffic and is way faster and far better at their service! The Papa Burgers were also grossly lacking in lettuce. We had also specified extra onions and barely got a regular helping of onions on either burger. Unless you eat a nostalgic view, the speed and flavor here is a major letdown. Save your money and do your palette a flavor favor and go to the Taylor Eureka Road location instead. That location also has far better deals, including $2.99 bacon cheeseburgers on Wednesdays (it is $3.49 here on Mondays). See the image for the Taylor Eureka Road location’s deals. They also have online ordering, a first for Metro Detroit A&W restaurants. They are far better managed and have experienced and competent kitchen staff whose burgers are oh so juicy and bursting with flavor—just like the classic A&W locations were in their heyday.

First time going to A&W. Didn't disappoint!!! We ordered cheese curds and cheese burgers, my son ordered the bacon double cheeseburger with fries. Fries are awesome as well as the cheese curds!!! Great food!!! Definitely a place to come back as they have a good variety of dishes. Next time, we'll order the shrimp and the cod basket. Waitress was very attentive.

Congratulations on being the longest open A&W in Michigan (67 years)!! We haven't had our A&W in about 30+ years and we enjoyed our wonderful food & experience. They are pleasant when answering the phone and the Car Hops are super sweet. We'll be back for sure. This was one of our Friday places to eat before going to the LP roller skating rink back in 1986.

I /love/ this A&W. Yes yes yes.

One. Everything is cooked to order. Want a fresh burger? You come here. I have never gotten a warming tray burger once in the years I've come here. And yep, I'm gonna say it. THEIR FRIES ARE BETTER THAN MCDONALDS FRIES.

I don't know what it is, but something about those fresh A&W fries are so much more potato-y and delicious than the current "king of fries" to everyone here. But really. Get the fries. And put cheese on them. (Cheese sauce - yum!)

I need to give some props to the employees at this A & W. They know how to work it. On 99 cent coney days they know how to bust their butts to get people taken care of in a quick and timely manner. They're always /so/ sweet and /so/ nice. Such a crazy change of pace from most fast food establishments.

I really do wish they had a larger interior for walk-in orders. I usually just want to grab and go without making the poor girls come out to my car, so I go in for my order. (Protip - If you want your food quick, order inside. The wait time is drastically less than doing a pull-up order)

But yeah. Get over here. It's open all year round and you...

I love this location!! The food, staff and owner are great! I think people are too hard on others these days.. most of the night shift are high school kids and usually their first job! People should have more patience.. Mistakes happen but they are always willing to fix it no matter the situation. But if you don’t like the food, service or whatever the case is.. just don’t go back 🤷🏻‍♀️ problem solved. Sidenote: the front counter is CLOSED you must order from a speaker. And when you hit the button to order, there is only one order taking monitor. (I’ve asked.) Please be patient. All the speakers work. It goes in order of who pressed the button. (Ive asked that as well.) Just wanted to address some things i’ve seen while ordering and other reviews on here. I come here weekly and never have any problems.. sometimes mistakes happen but they always fix them with no issues. BE KIND AND TIP YOUR CARHOP!!! They work for tips!!! Last but not least, the coneys are no longer .99c on Tuesdays, they are $1.29. Prices go up. Not sure what people expect when they were .99 for over 20 years. Times change. Best A&W around,...
