I really enjoy Beard park for our scouting den meetings, or just for a day of playing, and appreciate the open spaces and the playground equipment for the kids. I would like to see more covered areas, but could see that with the small space it’s hard to fit in more covered areas or even more seating. There is only one large covered area with a few picnic style tables, but other than that, there is no escaping the elements at this location.

If you plan to have a party or large event, this wouldn’t be my first choice because of the limited space to accommodate a lot of people, but I do like that there are open public restrooms which isn’t always common at parks anymore. There are also water fountains for people and pets which is nice if you wanted to take your dogs here to walk/run the path behind the park.

My son loves the equipment and I like that I can see him from most vantage points without being worried that he has run off. There is plenty of parking which makes it convenient to stop in on a sunny day and get in and out...

Different and fun. I like the forest theme for the play and climbing activities. It's suitable for a wide range of ages, with different play pieces so groups can play together. Several activities that I haven't seen anywhere else around here.

Only downside is the proximity to a wooded area that, while it provides shade, also provides the mosquitos shady protection.

Good parking and a bathroom on site is very convenient.

I also really love the music creation area that stimulates the mind. Young and old can...

Gorgeous space and equipment, but beware of spiders! I am here today with my children, and spiders/webs are everywhere (on literally every piece of equipment, trash can, picnic table, etc). The many webs and spiders make it difficult for little ones to play and be at ease. Any measures the city could implement to prevent or mitigate the spider population here would go a long way toward helping visitors make the most of this beautifully...

Clean and new park that's a bit different. Good for ages 2-10. Very challenging climbing obstacles that push little ones to try new things and take some risks. The ground is shock absorbent and artificial turf so it makes for a great surface. A little something for everyone but really good for 3-8yrs. Totally worth a stop by to check it out. Only negative is how how hot the equipment gets in the sun because there's no shad cloth, be careful.
