Rural King — Attraction in Little Rock Township

Generally I have a decent experience at rural King. But tonight was a totally different world. I asked for help from an employee to find fly strips. The employee directed me to somebody else because it was not their section. Which is totally understandable. But unfortunately the woman that they referred me to did not care to do their job! That lady turned out to be the manager. I have to say as a manager she is a disgrace to your store! She just gave me the directions where to find what I was looking for which I already explained to her I did not find it over there nor did I find a spot that was empty on the shelf with that price. She came over there with me and vaguely looked said if it's not here we don't have it and proceeded to blame corporate for the problems. What it turned out was she preferred to go talk to her friends that were shopping in the store she sat there and shot the breeze with them instead of taking care of a customer. So at the checkout I asked the cashier if they had the product I was looking for I showed them the online picture that showed their store had it. The young man looked it up for me and said they had 10 in the store. That young man whose name is Ben also took the time to go through the shelves and search for it with me. While at the same time that manager was still having personal conversations with her friends while she is on the clock not helping customers. Very disappointed with the customer service out of your management in your Plano location. Unbelievable that a cashier goes the extra effort that your manager cannot put in. I hope you investigate the problem and reeducate the proper people and look after the young man that did the extra effort to take care of a customer. Yesterday (10/20/2023) I went here mid to late morning to look to buy a firearm legally with my 7yr old daughter (spending some time with my little girl before work). Instantly I was racially abused because I’m African American. Being called the N word, told that all N words are criminals, I should be in the field working as a slave, & I should self harm in front of my daughter so she knows we’re the wrong race of people. I’m a law abiding American citizen, have my foid & ccw, & have a very respectable job as an engineer. I have it all on recording with audio from my body cam I also wear. I don’t know the name of the white man behind the counter is but he needs to get fired! I do have an appointment Monday with my lawyer to seek legal advice on this matter & store. What also is concerning, he was selling 6 guns & at least 5,000 rounds of ammunition to a man without question but because of my race & being a father to my child I got targeted for no reason other than walking up to the counter to look at what’s in stock with my foid out. This is seriously one of my favorite stores ever. Everyone here is so friendly. They have such an awesome variety of items for anyone who has a farm, a large yard, animals (even if just dogs), or who is a do-it-yourself-er. They also have free popcorn and coffee. The popcorn is legit a reason to come all on its own.

You need real overalls? Come to Rural King. You need snack food, a camo recliner, a horse bit and some dog food? Come to Rural King. You need tools and maybe some baby chickens? You guessed it - Rural King. Are you having a rough day? Forget the bar - just come to Rural King, get some popcorn, walk around, hang out - your day will definitely improve.
