WOW! What an incredible spot in Livermore. I heard about this place a few months ago while I was at Cap & Taps. I overheard them raving about it. Finally got a chance to go check it out with the wife.
I called them first to get a full idea what they are about and serving. We made our way down from San Ramon. It's in a good location near downtown Livermore with parking lot and street parking.
When you walk in there are two large long table to the right and bar seating to the left. It's sits about 28 people. It was somewhat quiet so we got a chance to sit down. Very clean inside with equal clean restroom. They have a two door fridge with wonderful beer options to purchase. Also there's about 6 beers on taps that are all great options. The beer list is on the wall to the left when you walk in. There's another fridge in the back to the right that has other drink and cold food options as well. There are two more shelfs when you walk in with great purchase options as well.
We stood in line which did not take long at all. There are menu options to look at to see what you want. They ask you great questions to get an idea of what you like and going towards if your willing to try something you've never had before. The counter experience was great.
Next we sat down and there was this nice great couple next to us. It did not take long at all to be served after we decided what we wanted. Really loved how the time was taken to go over everything that was served to us on the plate. I had cheese and meats I've never had before and was completely blown away. I'm normally not a fan or Brie cheese but they have one called Nancy and holy wow amazing stuff.
Everything on our plate was gone with no hesitation. I had stuff I've never seen or heard of before and had no problem eating it. Some of the best stuff we've ever had.
When we finished we must have walked back and forth 3 times looking at options to buy for home and ensuring we missed nothing. The staff is beyond friendly with you and the fact the owner came in on his day off just to help out is everything.
Hands down in my opinion one of the best businesses Livermore has had in a while. It is a must visit if you like this type of food. Looking forward to going back many times.
Just had my first opportunity to get a sandwich. Kept hearing about these but not around during the days to get one. Working in Livermore today and I keep track of what they offer through their social media. I don't know what half of these ingredients are and nor do I care haha. I got the Strawberry Fields and holy wow!. Easily best sandwich I've ever had and I'm a sandwich guy. The bread is beyond fresh along with everything else you can tell is fresh and quality. If you truly love sandwiches you must get one from here or you...
Read moreThe Cheese Parlor is my favorite place in Livermore, maybe my favorite place ever. The owners and staff are absolutely incredible people and amazingly knowledgeable in the world of cheese. The monger plates are great if you're looking for a meal or if you've never been before! If the Parlor is busy or if you're in a hurry, I recommend ordering a few wedges of cheese and asking for a few accompaniments on the side. You get nearly the same experience, more slices of cheese goodness, and super quick preparation. They also carry Livermore wines, local accompaniments, and only California beer. The Parlor's commitment to small business is one of the best things about them. I once heard Brandon say, "When you support our small business, you're supporting my small family and many other families directly. Most of the cheeses we carry come from small family-ran farms. Many of our accompaniments come from cottage makers in the area. It's a domino effect." The Parlor truly strengthens the community of Livermore. It doesn't get better than that, folks.
I also recommend signing up for any of their cheese pairing classes/events - incredible food chemistry and a chance to learn a lot about cheese and beverage!
Whenever my partner and I visit the parlor, we leave happier than when we arrived. It's our comfort spot.
There's just not enough good things to say about the Parlor. Thank you for opening in Livermore and enhancing our lives in ways beyond...
Read moreThis may sound odd at first, but stay with me there's a payoff. When is the last time you picked up the phone to make a call? It's normally a text, an email, or a website search. Am I wrong? All with a mind of being efficient. Well had I followed that " norm." I wouldn't be able to boast about my telephone conversation with the owner of the Cheese Parlor. The ripple effect is, I've gotta see the shop myself, meet him, and his knowledgeable team. If you're wondering who cut the cheese? It's either his skilled team or Brandon. Are you aware of what skill it takes to cut an 80lb wheel of delicious parmesan cheese? Trust me it takes special knives and nerves. Brandon, I believe is cut from a different cloth much like myself. T.S.O.L, Bad Brains, and The Misfits are on our Playlist, Doc Martens or Vans on our feet, and a Alva fish under said feet. Delicious savory pairings occupy our thoughts and a warm smile starts in our hearts. If this sounds like someone you'd like to meet, then head over to the cheese parlor in Livermore. You won't be...
