AMC Livonia 20 — Attraction in Livonia

I visited AMC Livonia for the first time, and it will definitely be the last. I regret not going to Emagine/MJR.

Drove nearly an hour and a half just to go to an AMC theater because there was a particular movie bucket/cup we were hoping to get. I even called multiple times at different points in the day trying to check if they had the exclusive popcorn buckets and cups for the movie I was seeing. Not once did anyone bother to pick up. I ended up driving out of my way just for this merch, figuring its only day two since the movies release..only to find out it had sold out on day one. That could’ve been avoided with the simplest courtesy...answering the phone.

The disappointment didn’t end there. The popcorn wasn’t even fresh, which is the bare minimum expectation for a movie theater. Then I had to sit through an exhausting 30 minutes of ads and commercials before the movie actually started. Seats are uncomfortable and you are shoulder to shoulder if you have anyone next to you.. The concessions area looked messy and disorganized, and the staff seemed unhappy to be there, which showed in the overall atmosphere.

On top of all that, the theater had multiple loud patrons who went unchecked, making it hard to enjoy the film. Judging by how empty the entry and theater was, I can only assume this is the norm here, and that locals already know the quality is poor.

Overall, AMC Livonia was a complete letdown from start to finish. Between the lack of basic customer service, the stale concessions, the disruptive atmosphere, and the overall disorganized environment, I won’t be returning. Wish I could...

Genuinely the most absolutely disgusting theatre I’ve ever been to. I wish I had read the reviews before making the 30 minute drive from Ann Arbor. I had heard of the AMC A-List and wanted to give it a shot, especially for how many movies you can see per month for such a low price but I legitimately couldn’t even make it through the trailers of the movie I was planning on seeing tonight because of how disgusting the theater was.

What a waste of time and money. So many better theaters open and it’s an actual shame that AMC associates this place with their name. First time at an AMC theater after hearing praise about it in other states but I will not be returning to this location ever. Honestly I doubt I’ll give my money to another AMC either to be frank.

This place needs a major update. I don’t know how it’s even still open, honestly. The place is so outdated which wouldn’t be a major issue if it didn’t absolutely reek. The seats were plenty gross in the dark so I can’t imagine how awful they’d be in the light. Trash in the lobby, hardly any staff period and there was nowhere to scan my ticket so I just proceeded to the auditorium. Definitely no element of safety and security at all.

All movie theater staff were rude and unhelpful. Went to this movie for exclusive Jurassic Park merchandise and the AMC exclusive T-Rex drink. They claimed no one in the theater could make the drink they were advertising and that a manager were the only ones who could make it. We asked if they could get a manger to make the drink for us but they claimed to not know anything about it even though there were posters all around the theater advertising the theater exclusive drink. The managers even refused to come down to talk to us about it and said through the phone that they would only serve beer and wine and will not taking any other questions from us. Once in the theater the seats were stained and ripped, Floors were dirty, and theater had a moldy smell. They started playing the wrong movie but quickly changed it to the correct one however the screen was cropped and zoomed in cutting off the picture throughout the whole movie. During the movie the power shut off and the theater when dark for a couple of minutes. They resumed the movie but wouldn’t give us any explanation as to why the movie stopped. No staff would take any question about refunds or discounts given the awful experience we had. I will never be coming back to AMC and will be sticking to Emagine theaters seeing that the quality of everything Emagine has is superior to AMC. I would never recommend this...
