Sumac Pointe Recreation Area — Attraction in Livonia

Beautiful area with the lake and playground for kids. Plenty to do here. Nice facilities here also. The only problem is the geese. There is goose feces everywhere you look and walk in this entire park. I couldn't even play catch without stepping in it or having the ball roll through it. This has to be a health hazard as people picnic here and there are plenty of children that play here. That cant be good as kids dont really pay attention to that sort of thing. The ecoli bacteria has to be bad here. Wayne County needs to step their game up and hire someone to run the geese out and keep them out. They are overpopulated in the area and they need to keep our parks way...

Perfect little spot for the family to enjoy a picnic, BBQ, fishing 🎣,biking, walking, and kayaking. Love ❤️ the diversity of families visiting. The playground was fun for all ages 🙃 Pet friendly, too! 🐈‍⬛🐕 . There is plenty of wildlife to enjoy, watch while exploring....

I thought the playground area could use some improvements. And the water smells pretty bad. Not sure if it's because of the algae or something else. Kids still had fun though. Probably find a better spot down Hines Dr...
