I like this theater for its location mainly. Its convenient for people in Lompoc, and it has a lot of show time options for matinees and evenings all week. Picture and Sound are not its forte. Snacks are a little cheaper than big theaters, but my body does not agree with what they use for butter, and the young staff typically do not understand what very little or lite butter is when you ask for it. If there was a much better theater like 20 minutes or less away, then I would probably go there, but Lompoc is situated with distance and hills to larger cities.
I like watching movies, but am not super picky, so this place works for me. The new Santa Maria complex at the mall is really nice, but you pay for it, and its more driving that I like. The snacks in Santa Maria cost is outrageous, but the picture and sound is awesome. Every theater has stadium like seating and big screens, so its great for watching action movies. We still stay in Lompoc most of the time because its convenient, but we generally go to early shows, that are not packed. I would not attend the evening shows here, because of all the local teens. Buellton is ok too, but it tends to get hot in their rooms, uncomfortably so if its full.
I would give this theater 3 stars if that was the liked it star, which would be better rating, and 4 should be better than average, and 5 would be loved it. The person complaining about a commercial before the movie starts is absurd, get over it. Its commerce, and they need to make money somehow and provide you with a service. A vapor cigarette commercial is G rated, only an adult would take offense for their kids who don't care. If you cannot teach your kids not to smoke, its...
Read moreIt's a nice enough 4 Screen Theater. And they offer discounts on the first showing of the day, and all showings on Tuesday * unless it's a Sony film.- Sony's stipulation not theirs. Sent it safe for screen you get for choices. But usually when a blockbuster comes out, they will show it on two different screens with staggered start times. They have also either replaced all the seats, or all the seat fabric covers since I've first attended.
It's an old movie theater so it doesn't have to the best of my knowledge any 4K, Ultra HD, laser, 3D or IMAX cameras, she can't get any of those movie options. But they do have the standard classic movie grade showing. I have no complaints. I've been there several times over the years, and the food and drinks have always been right on. And the employees have always been courteous and have worked as fast as they could. Usually it's the snack bar that has the backup line. But with there only being one or two employees working at the time, they are working as fast...
Read moreOverall its barely okay. For a small town theatre I am surprised at the poor staffing. I am not sure what the other "Google User" reviewer is talking about regarding price. North County has a higher general admission for adult tickets at $10.00 Lompoc $9.50 Buellton, whereas it is from $6:50 to $7.50 in Santa Barbara, and Goleta. The weekend is the worst time to enjoy a movie at this location; unmonitored tween-agers usually ruin it with talking or cell phone or just talking with others while the movie is playing. The staff does little or nothing to enforce quiet/No cellphone policy. It may have been a good place at one time but my friends and I find it a hassle about 25% of the time. If we want to enjoy a good movie without the drama we go to Buellton 15mins away. If we want to enjoy a Friday or Saturday night movie Goleta Camino Real is way nicer and they have several restaurants...
