Pizza Rant...
Went to Mi Amore Pizza in Lompoc today. (1/8/2018) Monday around 1:30 ish p.m.
I placed a to go order. A large Pepperoni Pizza with 12 wings. The subtotal was $27.99. With Tax it was $37.00. I thought that was a bit pricey but I was hungry, so I let it go.
Usually their pizza is delicious and reminds me of Rusty's Pizza in Santa Barbara. I love Rusty's Pizza! When I got home and opened the box salivating at the thought of pizza in my mouth, I was overcome by shock, rage and awe to find my pizza was seriously over cooked, the dough was rock hard, the pepperoni was burnt and it looked like the pizza was cooked with hatred and abuse. The wings were so burnt that they were black and the buffalo sauce was dried to a dark crust.
I tried a couple of slices and it tasted like it looked. It tasted like over cooked cardboard and the wings salty jerky attached to bone. I hurt my teeth chewing on that raw hide pizza. My stomach is not happy either. I was woefully disappointed with my purchase.
I could've saved my money by socking my stomach repeatedly while chewing on rocks. I couldn't eat anymore and tossed it.
Almost $40 thrown away.
Its sad because in the past I remember the pizza being delicious. I didn't expect what I got. I will never, ever go there again. If I lived closer to town, I'd have returned and ask for a refund.
I hope...
Read moreThe food was good and service was friendly on the food side of the establishment. However, when my daughter won the jackpot of 2500 tickets from one of the machines and the machine ran out of tickets I went over to a young man working the prize counter to ask for assistance. He said when he finished with the line of 4 other kids that he'd come to help me, which was fine. But then after those children had been helped MORE children had come up to the counter and he attended to them instead of coming to put a simple ream of tickets in the stupid machine. So I stood there patiently waiting, and waiting AND WAITING for over 20 minutes! Finally fed up with being overlooked, I returned to the counter and asked if there was anyone else who could help me since he CLEARLY couldn't be bothered with helping me. He said he was the only one there to which I replied "then apparently I'll be here till closing waiting on you to do your job!" If 1 person can't handle running the gameroom floor and the prize counter then maybe they should consider putting 2 employees in the gameroom! Had I not been blatantly ignored for all that time I would've given this place a 5star rating. I think I'll just go to Chuck E...
Read moreI used to really like Mi Amores. Then several years ago, my fiance and I ordered a pepperoni calzone to be delivered. So we both chowed down. And within a half hour we were BOTH in the bathroom for over 2 hours, with buckets handy for our top end. I can see that happening to me, I have a sensitive GI tract. HE however, had the original cast iron stomach. He could eat two week old yogurt and be fine. So whatever it was that got us was a STRONG bacteria or virus. Food poisoning is no fun. Once we had nothing else left to give, we both collapsed and slept straight through until morning. We couldn't eat anything for a couple days and had low grade fevers. We debated about going to a doctor but had no insurance, so I talked to my Father who was a doctor, he said if we weren't better by the third day after to go to the ER! Aso drink gatorade and rest. We were better by day 3, I might expect a little food poisoning from a fast food place, but this was a family restaurant. A minor upset stomach I can forgive-but the storm we went through was absolutely horrible. I haven't eaten there since. One batch of intense food...
