First off, this is a beautiful hotel, clean and we loved that it had prepared fresh fruit trays in their refrigerator case. It saved the morning. They were also very accommodating in bringing us an extra blanket and towels late one night. And, when we checked in the young man was very kind and personable. He told us some of the town history. ||||All that slightly goes out the window when you come down with three children at 9:25 to have breakfast and are told they are closing and get behind the blue line and they cannot make breakfast except a scrambled eggs. And it is not even an I’m sorry, we have closed down early. And you can see a pile of bacon in the kitchen. My guess by the looks of the dining room and the kitchen area, they decided to close early. Here’s the thing… In all our years of travel, I have never seen a hotel dining room close early or refuse to serve you breakfast if you arrive a few minutes before they advertise their closing time. Never! And, rudely told they can’t make a few pancakes for some hungry kids and just get behind the blue line. Why is there still a blue line? So we just walked across the street and bought a dozen donuts from a really nice lady. ||||Their other policy that is customer unfriendly: Upon a late midnight arrival when you want to get to your room, that very nice young man apologetically told us they only have two carts and to use one, we would have to leave a drivers license with him. What? As my husband parked the car, the young man explained the owner has a lot of rules to be followed and they were down to two carts now because people don’t bring them back. Think about that… do people stuff them in their car and take them? Is that why they are down to two? Doubtful. They just don’t want to purchase more. My husband talked to the manager and instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, she was argumentative and kept telling him people don’t bring them back, and lots of excuses like supply chain problems so they won’t purchase more. Such an excuse businesses use these days… if they had ordered several more months ago… they’d probably have them by now! ||||Our room was toasty hot upon arrival. Remember it was midnight and we really wanted to sleep, but a hot room and the need to retrieve a driver’s license delayed that! ||||We are all for business success and profit, but the bottom line is when you are paying more than a couple hundred a night for a room, you are paying for more than just a room. You are paying for a positive experience. We did get a nice room, but left with, not staying here again. ||||I haven’t written a review in a long time and have rarely ever written a negative one… but couldn’t let this go by. If the manager would have had a better attitude… I would have...
Read moreWell, I just finished a 47 day stay here and i arrived 1 week after the hotel opened for the first time. I have been traveling for the last 16 1/2 years and i will say that this is by far one of my top 3 hotels i have ever had the pleasure of staying at. Check out all of the pictures i have uploaded here if you want to see what the hotel looks like.
The people here are amazing, super friendly and care about every aspect of your stay. Sylvia, the GM, is great at taking care of anything you may need throughout your stay and couldn't be a nicer person. The ladies at the reception desk are just genuinely awesome, high spirited and always willing to help and you can never catch them without a smile. The restaurant staff is also wonderful. Ashley and the girls are always out to make sure you are taken care of and couldn't have been more perfect. I had a few general conversations with the maintenance staff also and they are a good bunch of guys. They are always making sure everything is running good on your stay.
The rooms here are really nice and spacious enough that you have all the room you need. The mini fridge and Kurig are a really nice item to have in the room. There was enough space on the table that i could setup my dual monitors for my laptop and still have plenty of room for anything else that i wanted to put there. The beds are very comfortable and they provide 2 medium and 2 large pillows which were comfortable (Usually i go a buy a new pillow that i like for hotel stays but i did not need to do this here). The bathroom was spacious and had 2 small shelves in it that were really convenient. The shower was a good size also and the shower head was not a generic one.
Onto the in-hotel restaurant and bar. The food here in the hotel was amazingly tasteful. There is a good selection of food, beer and wine. I did try the majority of the food and i have to say that, if you stay here, you need to try the pork belly taco's and the 16oz rib eye steak. They have the most amazing flavors and i guarantee you have not had food like here before. The breakfast here is HUGE and there is many selections to choose from and with the kitchen able to cook any breakfast item you want on the menu.
The fitness room is probably the best i have ever seen at a hotel. Many machines, lots of free-weight dumbbells and 1 machine that does just about everything else. There are many mats to lay on and the floor is made of a foam puzzle and is very comfortable on your feet. I loved using this...
Read moreBeing on travel can be tough, one thing is that your away from home, family and friends. When you find a place that welcomes you in and makes your stay just a little more pleasant you truly start to feel like it’s a home away from home. That was the Hilton Garden for me.
A room is a room but my room was up to date design wise and perfectly clean at check in. Even though I do not request the staff to clean my room during my stays, the hotel cleaning staff stopped whatever they were doing and went out of their way to get me new towels and replenish my bathroom supplies as requested.
The Hilton Garden Inn customer service was top notch, professional and sincerely friendly. I hope I’m not forgetting anyone but the following people went out of their way to make my stay that little bit more special.
Thanks to Brenda, Anna, Melissa, and Jaxtyn the front desk services who greeted me daily by name always had a smile on their faces and generally started or ended my day on a good note.
Alex and Vanessa the restaurant/bar managers always greeted me as family and made me feel at home. They were my go to for local food and attraction ideas.
Joe the bartender/food server along with Nakaila, Ari and Douglas the food/bar servers treated me friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything I needed was taken care of. We would often share stories of our weekend exploits and a laugh.
Raoul from maintenance/late night front desk services was always there for me wether it was helping me setup my Xbox in the room or figuring out how to stop the tv from automatically turning off, he could fix it all. He would always stop whatever he was doing to take the time to greet me and say hello in passing.
Last but not least is Sylvia the general manager. Sylvia although always busy never missed an opportunity to greet me and ask how I was doing. She went out of her way to help facilitate and secure rooms for other people I’m my group on travel even when there were no rooms available. Sylvia would just make it happen.
Most of the time we have an abundance of choices on where we can stay while on travel. When you find that place that makes you feel like your someone special and treat you like family then there is really only one choice to make and for me that is the...
