Allen's Flower Market — Attraction in Long Beach

I have ordered from Allen’s Flower Market several times over the last ten years. Their flowers are fresh, plentiful, and at competitive prices. I recently ordered a premium bouquet and balloon for delivery to St. Mary’s Hospital in Long Beach. The clerk informed me over the phone about their website and phone order option. I went on the website and reviewed my options and called to make my order to meet the delivery cut off of the day. The phone order took a few minutes. The order was delivered about 70 minutes later to St. Mary’s receptionist. I received email and text delivery confirmation. I was informed four hours later by my family member that the delivery did not get to the recipient. I called Allen’s. Then I called St. Mary’s and they let me know Allen’s had already called them about the order. St. Mary’s receptionist let us know that the attending nurse was busy and couldn’t come get the bouquet. I found it difficult to believe that an attending nurse would have to leave patients to go get a delivery. That no one else could assume the responsibility. I imagine deliveries like this happen often and that there should be an effective protocol. A family member eventually had to go to the receptionist desk and grab the delivery to finish the delivery. This is of no fault of Allen’s, of course. This is a shortcoming of the hospital that should have a less cumbersome protocol in place for such deliveries. Allen’s was professional, as always. Allen's Flower Market always makes the most beautiful arrangements. Update: I have been a customer of Allen's since they sent the most stunning arrangements, several years ago, after my mother in law passed away. For the last four years I have had gorgeous arrangements and bouquets and centerpieces for every holiday and birthday and event delivered throughout every year. But since Easter this year they have been delivering forward facing spray arrangements that you can't view and enjoy from every angle. I always upgrade my orders and spend quite a bit, so it has been disappointing not to be able to enjoy the same quality and style as before. Sadly, after a very terse and rude interaction with the manager or owner, I don't know, he didn't give his name, I will no longer be a client. I simply asked if they had a new designer, because suddenly after many years the arrangements had changed and he scoffed and tried to say they follow the look on the website. I said I'd been buying off the website only for many years and have never had this happen, I also pointed out it does not say the arrangements are sprays. He was agitated and rude and asked what he was suposed to do about it. So weird! Common courtesy and good customer service would have easily fixed the problem, I even told him the flowers were very pretty, just one sided which i didn't understand. After a failed delivery attempt with another florist through a major online floral delivery company (I didn't know who else to go).

I researched and found Allen's Flower Market had great reviews, so I placed an order for a "Flowering Birthday Cake" with them directly.

I placed the order late night (after store was closed) on a Monday, and requested the option for delivery by the next day by 11am at the latest. They delivered before the deadline AND it was the most BEAUTIFUL floral arrangement EVER! It was a mix of flowers, put into the shape of a Birthday Cake; and they even put candles in the cake to make it look more "real"!!

My Cousins told me "All of the nurses LOVE the Flower Cake, they're saying it's the cutest thing, and none of them have ever seen anything like it before!" I thought my Cousin's were just saying that: but then I went for a visit, a Nurse came in and actually did mention how beautiful the flower cake was. I told her it was from Allen's Flower Market in Long Beach!

I can't believe that Allen's went over and above with the last minute delivery. The flowering Birthday cake was BEAUTIFUL, and when I was there it was 7 days after delivery, and the arrangement still looked SUPER FRESH!
