A really beautiful place since they restored it. The place is a natural wetland, and serves as a hatchery for fish to come in from the ocean and lay their eggs. Always a popping crowd in the summertime - good for swimming and having a barbecue. Beware of the jellyfish. I was there one time, and there was a school of probably 100 (it was rare, but it happens). Cool place for an afternoon or early morning stroll as well. Seems as though they're redoing it again, so let's hope they make it even better!

The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan would not be hyperbole when describing the Lagoon. It is an incredible location with both a dark and light history. They are making an incredible effort to restore it to a salt marsh and tidal influence. It is a 5 star walk and chill energy any LBC resident should cherish consistently. However, for years, they knew it was contaminated and did nothing primarily because they didn't care about who'd claimed it post 80s....

The new nature walkway at Colorado Lagoon is a great way to learn about California native plants and animals that make the lagoon their home. It is also a pleasant and scenic walk, though quite short. There's typically plenty of free parking on the side streets.

Not so hidden spot for a swim. The city invested into cleaning this area up, making friendlier for both swimmers and nature. There's a short trail for a nature walk, and the new playground equipment is great for toddlers and young kids. Parking is usually not a problem except on...
