It's okay for a picnic, a nature walk or a quick hike, but it's not much to write home about. Probably only takes 20 minutes to see the entire area. That is if you are walking slowly to savor the redwoods and taking it in. If you really want to be wowed, just go Muir Woods. Its cute if you want to stay local, but don't get your expectations too high. The creek is dry and eroded, there's probably only a dozen or so redwoods in the entire area. It's mostly native plants and a boarded up residence that's been owned by the city since the 80's. Picnic area is just dirt and dead grass surrounded by construction fencing. Not too scenic. There are several picnic tables, 2 porta potties, available trash cans, a welcome board with information, labels on small local plants growing by preservation groups, & a small building at the entrance, (maybe a ranger satation?). This is a small annex to the larger Shoup park it has a small boarded walkway around the almost always dry creek. It is generally quiet most people walk there dogs through here there are like 3 picnic tables. It is mostly dirt rugged paths impossible for strollers walkers and wheel chairs- Shoup park has a wide maintained about 1/3 mile loop around its grass and wooded park. Why would google post such a misleading description.
