Shoup Park is a great park in Los Altos. Amenities such as bathrooms are available and seem to be kept clean at all times. Parking is available and plentiful.
It has two playground areas - one for 2-5 year olds and the other for older kids. Both playgrounds are close to each other. In the 2-5 year old playground area - there is a sand pit with two diggers that you can play with as well as as a see-saw. There are many seats around the small children playground as well as picnic table. In the older playground, just around the corner, you have higher and taller slides and monkey bars.
Shoup Park also boasts a creek nearby and is great for water play. So, bring along your rain boots. Seats and picnic tables line around the walkway. Shoup Park also connects to the Redwood Grove just...

There is plenty of well-shaded grass, and several picnic tables. There is one large group area available for reservations. There's a creek, which runs during spring and early summer. Some sections can be quite a bit deeper than 6" and smaller waders should be supervised until they get the hang of the creek. Larger waders will likely enjoy "exploring" upstream, there is a second park a few bends away, the nature preserve Redwood Grove. A path has also been built between the two parks, for anyone feeling less...
