Absolutely horrible experience purchasing a new Weber grill from here over the past week. The main perk of the holiday promotion was free delivery and assembly plus a free gas tank refill in-store. To start, the grill was supposed to come ~3 days after purchase in time for Memorial Day Weekend. The store called me and said the delivery van was out of commission and that it'd need to be delayed a few days - not a big deal as I understand these things happen. However, I told the store manager that I would not be home for the new delivery date and would be somewhere with no phone reception and to use my wife's phone number, which they assured me was added to the delivery instructions. The Friday of MDW comes and it's complete radio silence. Around 5pm when I get reception I see I have a few missed calls/voicemails from the delivery crew saying they were outside. Never called my wife who would've gladly let them in. Fast-forward to yesterday (post-MDW) and I get a call that the delivery driver is outside but he says his partner did not show up to work. He then asks if I can help unload, lift up the steps and to my front door. I have a horrible back and did not understand how Ace's employees failing to show up to work turns into the customer's responsibility to help deliver? Then there was the free in-store gas tank refill. What I expected to be a 15 minute visit to the store turned into an hour-plus as the staff had no idea how to process the offer. They tried making up caveats that I had to purchase the grill in-store, etc. despite me showing the coupon that was live on Ace's website with a bar code. After about an hour they reluctantly gave me the free tank as if they were doing me a favor. In hindsight, I would've rather paid the extra $100 to purchase from Lowes or Home Depot rather than...

Wow, employees who can actually answer questions and make suggestions! Ace carries most of the things I need for my current home improvement projects. I evaluated security doors and placed an order quickly with the aid of a knowledgeable salesperson. I also got help choosing security lights. The type that best suited my needs was not available in the store, but I did not waste time or psychic energy lumbering (haha) through an overwhelming array of products. I did not have to wait 10 minutes for the store to locate someone who could operate the key cutting machine. This Ace carries a much better selection of pool and hot tub products than the "local" big box store. Plants in the garden section are in much better shape - nothing looked like it had been frying outside without water. Prices were comparable to those in big box stores. Ace is compact, so I did not waste time walking from aisle 1 to aisle 23, only to discover that what I needed was on aisle 9, then back to aisle 22 for the correct screws. There was only one person before me in the checkout line, and parking was close to the store. In short, a much shorter way, and a less frustrating one, to get from my front door to the store and home again, so I could begin doing rather than shopping. For lumber, drywall, kitchen cabinets, or appliances, this is not where I would go. Perhaps some of those products online, but I am not the kind of person who would spend thousands of dollars on flooring or cabinetry without making its acquaintance in person first. For most of those things, I drive the 20 minutes to the big box store. For appliances, I visit Costco. For my ordinary needs, I choose...

My 1 rating is only for one person! Well for starters I stopped buying at Home depot 7 years ago because of their terrible customer service they say they work at every department but they don't know nothing so I changed to Orchard now Ace hardware people were nice and helpful then , but lately your new associates not all of them don't know where products are located tonight was just horrible I found what I need it and went to the check out stand, your cashier Kaidan an African American young tall lady , first she didn't say hi, then when she told me the total to pay I told her I have the exact change that way I will get bill instead of more change I told her I don't need the receipt, when she gave me my change I was confused of how much I suppose to get to what she told me in a rude manner : the receipt will tell you how much sir! I saw the screen and there it was the change amount, she gave the receipt on the counter and she told me :you can see it! To witch I reply : so you can not tell me how much? I started walking away when she told me : what an attitude I got really upset and told her she was the one with the attitude, and came back to check her name then her manners totally changed , she told me : sir I can't give you the change amount because I needed to see the receipt I reply still you didn't tell me the change amount

I will change my shopping to Lowes even I will have to drive further and spend more on gas

HONESTLY , you should spend more money training...

I passed by the store by accident, I went in to look for a Plumber’s tape that I had been planning to get, since I just recently installed a water filter, without the seal it’s leaking. So I went in without carrying any cash and cards with me (I went there after class, I don’t usually carry my wallet with me on a normal school day), not knowing that Apple Pay is not accepted (the machine can’t do pay wave), that puts me an awkward situation. And this very nice young man who works as a cashier in the next counter just came up and helped me pay it!! I was so grateful, I wanted to Venmo him back but he refused, so I said I’ll come back tomorrow to pay you in cash. And he said today is actually his last day working here. This guy just made my day, ACE you hired the right people, please treat your employees well.❤️ May god bless his kind soul, and wish him the best in everything he does his life.

I almost took a star away for Customer Service at the ACE on Bundy. The Rep in the laundry section exhibited utter indifference. This service level was below any levels that I have seen at other ACE stores. I’m still giving 5 stars for now (based on the benefit of the doubt). Maybe she just had a very bad day. The cashier was also quite distracted because he tried to make eye contact with a customer in another line. He asked her if she is still looking for a contractor (a little side hustle here?) Review to be continued at subsequent visit at ACE on Bundy. Disclaimer: Reviewer gives Five Star rating to small businesses initially; to support them and their livelihood. It can be difficult for small businesses in the world of online reviews after all ;) Feel free to rate my reviews if you find them useful. Thank you!

I recently purchased a Craftsman drill and used it for just a couple of hours. When I tried to return it, I was told that returns are not accepted if the item has been used. But how can a customer know if a tool works properly or meets their needs without trying it? I believe this policy is unfair and should be communicated more clearly at the time of purchase. Additionally, I had a very disappointing experience with Michael at the return counter. He was extremely rude—not just to me but also to other customers waiting to pick up online orders. He wouldn’t even make eye contact or acknowledge people properly. His behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. Someone with that attitude should not be working in customer service.
