I ordered a dozen roses for Valentine's Day on February 4th. I figured that would be enough time that if there were any issues before the 14th, they could be addressed.
First off, I noticed that their prices were high, although they were lower than other florists in the downtown LA area. With delivery and an up charge for delivering before 5 PM (why is this a thing?) it was about $130 for a dozen roses. I know things are expensive on Valentine's Day but that seems a bit much. I figured at least with the good reviews there shouldn't be any issues ordering from here. I was wrong.
The first issue I had was with the ordering process itself. Luckily, I screenshotted the order confirmation with order number because they did not send any confirmation email confirming the order but they were quick to charge my card!. As soon as you check out with the ordering process, they say they're going to send you a confirmation email, but I never received one. I checked my spam folder and nothing. I figured I'd give it a couple days just in case they're slammed for the occasion. I never received a confirmation email at all. The day before Valentine's Day I decided to shoot them an email to confirm that there were no issues with my order. I never received a reply from them. On Valentine's Day, I started calling them and left them a voicemail since nobody answered the phone the numerous times I called. I never received a response. Finally, I received an email of the flowers being delivered about an hour and a half after delivery.
If that were the end of the issues I could live with that. The problem is that according to my girlfriend, who works with a bunch of executives in her job, the delivery person looked like he just rolled out of bed and was wearing pajamas to make the delivery. That's not a good luck for a company to have their delivery people looking like that to deliver to any location, much less a location with executives present. On top of that, when I finally got to see the flowers that evening, I noticed that many of the rose petals were black around the edges. I've never personally seen that myself in the past and I've sent a lot of flowers over the years. I let it go because my girlfriend didn't seem to be bothered by it and definitely didn't mention it... until today. She noticed. She was disappointed.
I don't think I will be ordering from Alan's Flower Market...
Read moreI don't live anywhere near Allens Flower Market, but found them online as they deliver to an area in greater Los Angeles. I needed to arrange the best delivery possible to a wonderful young man who is developmentally disabled and grandson of our best friends, who would be undergoing a very delicate, serious 6-hr brain surgery episode. We wanted so much for him to wake to a happy scene from his best friend (our grandson) whose name is also Sam. Flowers would not do it. But a BIG wonderful balloon bouquet with a cute Teddy Bear attached would be perfect. But how on earth to get our dream gift to the right place at the right time when we live thousands of miles away? One call to Allens made be a believer. Not only did a human answer the phone, he was so helpful and patient. I had no idea that hospitals don't allow latex balloons for safety reasons. But mylar, he said, would be perfect. He made that stipulation in m y order, described the exact balloons he could offer to us, AND a cute stuffed Teddy Bear to go with it. We completed the transaction right there on the phone. The following day the most lovely, adorable GIGANTIC balloon bouquet made it to Sam's room, and Teddy Bear made it too. What a delightful experience. Talk about personal service. I am so impressed and will not forget which floral delivery service to call the next time I have a need in the Los Angeles/Long Beach area. Or anywhere for that matter. I'm certain this company can handle anything! Thank you Harry and your awesome customer...
Read moreI ordered the “roses & orchid” boutonnière & corsage online for NYE and was impressed by the same-day delivery and the quality & look of the flowers. However, the construction of the corsage was a huge disappointment & rendered it unwearable as it were.
Although the band fit my wrist perfectly fine, the flowers themselves were too heavy for their placement, which was too high on the bracket that connects the florals to the wristband, so that even the slightest hand movement would cause the flowers to flop side-to-side and fall all the way to the underside of my wrist. *It was completely unwearable this way and seemed as if the flowers would completely detach from the band and be destroyed with any movement whatsoever.
Thankfully I was able to find a thick ribbon, a needle & some thread at home to construct my own wristband placed higher up on the stem, and it held the flowers in place perfectly. The additional 30 minutes it took me to troubleshoot this was frustrating and delayed my NYE plans. Although the manager offered me a $15 discount after I called to inform them of the issue, I felt the need to warn others in case they encounter the same issue with this specific...
