This hostile from the moment you walk in gives immediate speakeasy with well traveled hippie grandma vibes. There are 8 rooms (mine was private and was able to lock it) and two full bathrooms and I think the third bathroom also had a shower but that one always seemed to be occupied during my stay lol so not sure if it’s a full bathroom or just a toilet. Check in was pretty easy and very clear, it’s self check-in which was great! Directions on how to sign into Wi-Fi were easy and didn’t lag. There’s a TV above the cute bar where you could watch Netflix. And then there are two tables against a bench and then two high tables in the small eating quarters. There were other people that were there while I was there that were very considerate of being quiet during quiet hours of 10 PM to 6 AM which was nice. But I noticed no one really hung out in the eating quarters/bar area, which is okay with me because I’m pretty introverted and why I prefer hostiles with private rooms and/or that are smaller. But just in case you’re social and wanting to meet other people, I’m not sure that this place would be good for that or maybe it was the time of year I visited (end of September). I’m giving five stars but I will say the location was a little odd. But I think that goes with the vibe of it being unmarked and unnoticed off the street because of it being a speakeasy. The location overall was great as I got to go to Echo Park and Silverlake easily to check out shops and restaurants.

Additional pros: there are earplugs, disposable razors, travel, size body lotion, and other things in acute basket next to the eating quarters, which was helpful because I needed lotion. there’s also a Keurig machine with coffee pods, powdered creamer, cups and 2 mini fridges. There a little station where you can fill up your water bottle or get hot water from too.

Con: It was pretty hot at night. And the email I received about check-in procedures were pretty clear about not messing with the thermostat. I do think that someone might’ve said something because I noticed that it was a couple degrees cooler on the thermostat one night. But it felt about the same sleeping that night. The walls are also paper thin. So I understand why quiet hours are strictly enforced. I could hear someone opening up a bag of chips and clicking on their iPhone trying to send a text next door. So when I had a stomachache one night, it was not fun if you know...

I asked the owner via Airbnb messenger if they provide shorter stays at discounted prices (i.e. 6 hours for a small engagement photoshoot. 3 people total.) as I was interested in using his bar area of the apt/hotel. He states he could charge me $600+ For a regular ā€œnight stayā€ and requested me not to use any beds to avoid additional linen fees. He offered that, but then added an unnecessary comment, saying ā€œ It’s up to you. Or just go to the park and take pictures. It’s free.ā€

I was shocked at that last comment about going to the park and stated that comment was not needed, and that I was just asking for prices to get more information. I told him I would have still booked whether or not he provided discounts.

His response was: ā€œ This conversation isn’t needed either. You can clearly see our prices and then tried to negotiate an already low price. I suggested something free because money is obviously something you are concerned with. If you’re not concerned with money then you can book for the prices that we advertise. We don’t need your business. We like to book to normal guests.ā€

Never have I felt so belittled by an Airbnb person. If I could give 0 stars for this interaction with the...

We loved our stay at the Rosemary! It's in a great location with plenty of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops around. Was perfect for our show at the Greek Theatre and we hiked all the way up from the hostel up to the Griffith Observatory one day.

We booked directly through the Rosemary and communication was fast and clear throughout the experience. There are two sides to the hostel, A and B, and we requested to be placed on the same side as our friends who were also booking a room, which the Rosemary was happy to accommodate. Self check-in was super easy.

Side B was lovely! Clean facilities, interesting decor, and options for water, coffee and tea. Included a nice shared area to play cards and drink wine in the evening. The rooms are on the small side, but it didn't bother us — we didn't spend much time in there and they were big enough for what we needed.

Overall, we felt it was a very unique, well-maintained place to stay in the perfect location & more fun than staying in a normal hotel. Great value...

I stayed at the Rosemary Bungalow room. When I arrived, the temperature in the room was over 90°. It has a mini split air conditioner that was running but not outputting any cold air. I opened the sliding door to the balcony all the way and had to leave it open all night to keep the room in the low 80s. However, the property is at the corner of an intersection so it was VERY noisy all night, making it difficult to sleep. This room does have its own dedicated bathroom. Regarding safety, the balcony sliding door has no ability to be locked and the primary door to the room is only secured with a basic twist lock. No deadbolt. I would not stay here again.

I visited LA to watch Dodgers' game and ONE OK ROCK concert at the greek theater. I stayed here because it's close to Dodgers Stadium and the greek theater. I stayed 3 nights from Friday to Sunday. On Friday nights, neighbors on the 2nd floor played a club music super loudly from midnight till morning. On Saturday night, 2 peoples were talking very loudly at the common space for 1 hour around 1 am. That's why I couldn't sleep well for 2 nights. Free drink was good, but there was no air conditioner in the room. Also, the bathroom was very tiny. It wasn't suitable for women. I don't recommend this accommodation.
