ABSOLUTELY EMBARRASSING FOR THIS COMPANY
I brought this store location a HUGE bag of my gently worn designer clothes ( Gucci , Chanel, Dior, Vineyard Vines, Lululemon , GoYard, and some other miscellaneous clothing.) Upon arrival it was instantly apparent to me that I was not in the nicest of areas , but regardless I was here after one of my tiktok influencer friends told me about this store and suggested I bring in some things I don’t use anymore , and might as well get some extra money for it. So that’s exactly what I did.
As I entered there was a few people already in line dropping some items off , I overheard them say to please wait an hour and come back , or browse the store until they had finished looking through the clothing . They left and it was my turn to bring my clothes to the drop off counter. The girl who assisted me immediately had an attitude, I’m not sure exactly why , maybe she was having a bad day.. but still no need for her to cop and attitude with me . She asked me for my ID then got me to fill out a ticket where I put my phone number and name , also address . Typical info I guess.
She then proceeded to tell me that I would have to wait several days for them to go through my bag and my clothing articles and see what they would want to purchase from my bag. I told them I wasn’t sure I felt comfortable leaving my clothes with them for an undisclosed period of time , especially with the fact that the MAJORITY of my clothing items were designer products, and that I had brought many products in and I honestly wouldn’t be able to remember / keep track of everything . She then proceeded to tell me she would call me when it was ready for pick up . ( which never happened)
Fast forward two days and I was admitted into the hospital . I was in there for a while and unable to leave due to the hospital procedures and their current regulations with covid / ER procedures. I called several times to check in with the staff on the status of my clothing collection , and each time the line was “busy” . My social media manager eventually was able to get in contact with them where they explained they were interested in several of my products , but offered an EXTREMELY low price for my like new designer items . They told me that the items were put on the rack already and were up for sale . Which I then said absolutely NOT I would not be accepting their offer. From there they tried to tell me I wouldn’t be able to get my items back and I had to accept their offer because i “signed” a contract or something LOL. FIRSTLY in the state of California a CONTRACT does not hold weight with the signature or verbal agreement or a minor . So that’s where they messed up originally . But then for them to try to take my clothes and force me to take their offer.. yeah no NOT going to happen. They then eventually realized it would be illegal since I’m a minor to not return my clothing to me and said they would call when it was ready for pick up . I called the next day to check in to see when I could pick up my clothes and they said they had been DONATED since I didn’t pick them up by closing . Keep in mind I’m IN THE HOSPITAL and one of the staff members knew that from speaking with me on the phone so I had NO WAY of picking up my items .
Long story short I’m now dealing with a potential LAWSUIT against this company for everything that had happened. Not only did they treat me with disrespect and completely ignore California state law but they DONATED ALL OF MY ITEMS WITHOUT CONSENT . I Have pictures and copies of all of my receipts with them and when I dropped it off and NO WHERE did I sign away a release for them to THROW my clothes out . And regardless even if I had my signature wouldn’t have stood as I am still a minor . I turn 18 in less that a week and a half so I’ll be able to fully handle this situation on my own.
Long story short BE CAREFUL !!! Do NOT sell your clothes to this store location!!! I’ve never had a issue at ANY other retail locations until NOW at this particular...
Read moreMy recent visit to Crossroads Trading left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. I arrived with a bag filled with summer clothing items, ranging from shorts and dresses to crop tops and skirts, as per their own selling guide which explicitly welcomes contemporary, vintage, and designer pieces in excellent condition.
After enduring a lengthy wait of over two hours, during which I had to uncomfortably perch on the floor due to inadequate seating, I was finally approached by a young woman who informed me that they only accept seasonal items and proceeded to select a mere three pieces from my bag. This process netted me a lousy $19.50.
What added to my frustration was the inconsistency in their policies and the misleading information provided. Despite their guide mentioning acceptance of designer items, I was told otherwise by a subsequent attendant, who hastily concluded my transaction. The young woman who initially attended to me was no longer found by the counters. It was evident that the staff's handling of my items was biased and not aligned with the store's own guidelines.
Moreover, the inefficiency of their mobile ticketing system compounded my dissatisfaction. Mobile system did little to streamline the process, leaving many patrons including myself guessing how much longer it would be until we would be attended to.
Overall, my experience at Crossroads Trading was not only inefficient but also misleading and disappointing. I will no longer consider selling to them and would caution others to manage their expectations accordingly.
Donating to Goodwill seems a more reliable and fulfilling option. Crossroads Trading may showcase designer items, but their operational practices and customer service fell far short of my expectations.
Think twice before considering...
Read moreI sell at this particular crossroads at least twice a month but having been selling overall for about 5 years already. 1) I love that they have a place to park. 2) the staff are mostly friendly with a couple of exemptions (maybe I am just judging a book by it’s cover so sorry!😅) but overall, I love selling here. I’ve gotten better at what they like and most importantly, what season to sell! certain clothes are better for other seasons but since we are in Los Ángeles, most clothes are the right clothes. Lol. They do buy for other stores as well as I am sure they are highly popular.
I want to add that about 2-3 months ago I went in with maybe 4-5 bags full of clothes and they only bought about 7 items BUT I was told that it was Only because they were buying for other stores and they were being very selective especially because the store was already so full. I was suggested to come back a couple days later or the following weekend and since I live about 10 minutes from there, I went 3 days later and I was left with a bag and a half full of clothes. So, thank you!❤️
The items to buy can be hit or miss, of course depending on your style. I can usually find at least one item I love which is fine for me. It’s great to be able to recycle clothing. My closet is...
