Escape Day Spa — Attraction in Los Angeles

My husband bought me a package of facials, and this was my second visit. My first visit was wonderful, Adrienne was lovely - caring, attentive and informative. This time, however, sadly didn’t measure up. First, what was great: they were able to accommodate me with short notice (I called yesterday about 5 pm and was able to secure a 10 am appointment this - Sunday - morning), the check-in was lovely, and the spa itself is clean, quiet and pleasant. My facial was with Mary. She was nice enough, and to be fair was dealing with a series of electrical issues that had the lights blinking on and off. Having said that, the entire treatment felt hurried/rushed and a bit rough. While I appreciated the added massage, throughout the treatment Mary’s movements were short and fast, the various creams, lotions, masks, oils, water etc. were mostly cold (and it was quite a cold day today), and towards the end Mary was moving so quickly while massaging my neck and shoulders I was legitimately worried I would tweak a trapezius with the way she was tossing my head around. I’m generally pretty easy going and take things as they come, and this may be a personal preference issue, but this was not the relaxing experience I was hoping for (and needed). I still have two treatments in my package so I’ll likely be back, but I won’t be seeing Mary again. It was a shame, especially considering how wonderful my first experience was.

UPDATE: I received a call and text message from Escape Day Spa within an hour of leaving the review above, apologizing for my experience and seeking to make it right. At the time I was unable to take the call, but they - and their manager Marcia - continued reaching out until we were able to touch base on Friday. I shared with them that my first experience, with Adrienne, was lovely. Without hesitation they offered to add a facial to my package, making my previous visit free of charge, and invited me to come back and see Adrienne. All I can say is DIANE is the Massage Queen!!! Her hands are like magic. She is absolutely amazing. Aside from being very sweet and kind, her work is really fabulous. She has a great feel for the body, the muscles etc. I have been seeing her for about 1 year, and I am always very excited when I have an appointment with her.

I just had a wonderful Swedish massage with Azat. His hands are golden!!! I am very picky when it comes to massages, but Azat was great. He listened to my needs and applied the perfect amount of pressure. I will def be back!!!

Aside from the massage, the location is super convenient. Lots of parking options, very clean and as soon as you walk in you get a sense of relaxation. The woman at the front desk was very nice and catering to my needs as well.
