A Transformative Worship Community at the Heart of Hollywood
My experience at First Presbyterian Church Hollywood has been nothing short of remarkable. This beautiful, historic campus offers a sanctuary where spiritual roots are deeply anchored in traditional Presbyterian heritage, yet gracefully infused with modern touches that resonate across generations. The music is a testament to this blend—a soulful mix of choir harmonies and contemporary melodies that elevate worship at every point in the service, touching the heart on both nostalgic and innovative levels.
Pastor JT’s leadership shines brightly, guiding the congregation with motivational and heartfelt messages that inspire introspection and communal growth. His sermons are thoughtfully crafted, consistently delivering warmth and purpose, truly ministering to both individuals and families alike.
One of the church’s many strengths is its dedication to serving all ages. During Sunday congregation services, children experience their own nurturing environment through engaging Bible School programs. This focus on youth and family creates a multi-layered worship experience—where the spiritual growth of children is prioritized alongside that of adults—fostering a community that truly nurtures all generations in faith.
The church’s commitment to fostering a multi-generational community is further reflected in its diverse programming. From engaging children’s Bible studies and Sunday School to vibrant services for teens and young adults, First Presbyterian Hollywood creates spaces where everyone can encounter God’s love and truth. Additionally, morning Bible studies prior to worship further deepen spiritual roots, making it a place of continuous learning and connection.
Nestled in a prime location in Hollywood, California, the campus radiates history and love—an inviting haven for visitors and members alike. The staff’s warm hospitality makes every visit feel like coming home, embracing all with open arms. Whether you're a local, a visitor, or seeking a spiritual community to root yourself in, this church provides a genuine sense of belonging and purpose.
Beyond Sunday services, the church is actively engaged in meaningful outreach—feeding the homeless through the Lighthouse program and participating in global missions—demonstrating a heartfelt commitment to living out Christ’s love in action. The campus even hosts a vibrant Hispanic Chapel at the same time, ensuring a rich cultural tapestry and worship experience for Spanish-speaking communities.
First Presbyterian Church Hollywood is more than a church; it’s a beacon of purpose, love, and spiritual breadth. I wholeheartedly invite anyone seeking a place of worship filled with beautiful music, powerful messages, and authentic community to come and experience what makes this landmark in Hollywood so...
Read moreI never thought I would have to write a bad review about a church but here I am. I volunteer from time to time to feed people who are experiencing homelessness on the sidewalk behind this Church on Sundays through an organization. The last time I was there, I was told this church has tried to remove all the volunteers and threatened to call the cops on them. I couldn't believe a church would call the cops on people who are just simply trying to feed people. If the church reps are concerned about litter left behind then they should totally voice their concerns. The organization would totally understand that and assign someone to go around to pick up trash. This service is late in the evening on Sundays so it doesn't even get in the way of church services. This is a very fulfilling thing I do on a weekly basis that helps me feel like I'm doing something good for the world. But for a church to take that away is just so insanely unbelievable. I really hope they change their stance on this and allow this org to continue to feed people who are experiencing homelessness. The world needs more...
Read moreI just wanted to share that my husband experienced a calling into ministry at Hollywood Presbyterian after a Good Friday service back in the early 2000s. It's a special church. He is now a senior pastor in Texas. I just want to thank the church for your part in his faith journey. Keep up the great work of discipling Christians! We are praying for you all now with the fires and know that you will be a light for those that are in great need. We are praying for you and working on sending aid from our church, Westminster Presbyterian Church...
