20 Jan 23 - Update - Mean Girls - it was later than i like to be up, but use waze to find parking. My Garmin led me around the block when we saw Book of Mormon snd ended up posting for different parking and not using the prepaid one.
First time getting refreshments. Gentlemen who assisted us was very nice. Conversed with him for a few minutes before ordering my daughter a drink. He was probably the best part of MY experience. The seats were orchestra left WW. Looking at the seats on ticketmaster did these seats no justice. Much better view all yhe was to ZZ than it shows and we purchased ours for only 39$. The venue is always great. Employees are very helpful. I wasn't into the actual musical - my daughter has been wanting to go so it was hard to stay engaged, but overall it was a great experience. She laughed the whole time and said she wouldn't be upset if I fell asleep. I didn't, but i did zone out. Traffic heading back east was more than I expected for 1030pm, but I'm not usually out that late, if at all. Not many wore masks, as far as patrons go but my daughter and i did. They are "strongly encouraged". Overall 11 out of 10! Picture of location of our seats for your assistance with your own picks.
Best, yet. The mask and mandatory vaccine is in effect. One employee walked around checking vaccine card and giving a yellow dot sticker to show the vaccine card was seen and person was good to go. Check in via ticketmaster went well. Per the website no screenshots or printed forms would be accepted. Some coding in the display of the tickets needed to be verified by their handheld scanner. We didn't have bags, but noticed those getting bags checked, the employees used a 3 foot long stick with a light on the end. Looked a little intrusive so i suggest not bringing a bag. (I kept our vaccine card in my bra, in plastic case... learned that from my grandma. Lol) The mask policy was enforced throughout. One guy sitting across aisle from us had to be reminded continuously to put his mask on. Ugh. Please don't be that guy. Anyway, second time seeing Hamilton, and better than the first. Eccentricities of the cast adding their own flair made it a...
Read moreINCREDIBLE experience tonight seeing A Beautiful Noise The Neil Diamond Musical. The show was SPECTACULAR -the costumes, of course the music, the band- I was blown away by the production itself. The venue and its staff are what I really want to praise though. I have Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. Diagnosed at age 5. Stairs are very difficult for me to navigate, but given this venues age- there is NO elevator to the upper levels(the only drawback to this incredible and iconic and beautiful venue) so no choice in the matter. Luckily I can manage stairs, I just give myself extra time to do so. When I got to the to to enter the mezzanine section, I was created by two of the Sweetest ushers. The gentleman usher saw how proud I was to have made it up and he immediately came over and took my hand and said "you're my hero". He explains that the auditorium itself wouldn't be open for another 15 minutes. He then stands me off to the side and proceeds to grab me HIS chair that he sits in during the show to sit in so I at least wouldn't have to stand that long. I was blown away. THIS is going above and beyond. THIS is human kindness, compassion, empathy and being the ultimate gentleman. This is guest service. It restored some faith in humanity for sure. Thanked him profusely every time we saw him. INCREDIBLE experience. I recommend this show and this venue. I CANNOT WAIT to be back in a few weeks for Some Like It Hot. Thank you Hollywood Pantages, for making this little theatre...
Read moreBeautiful theatre with lots of seating! How novel and wonderful it was to see a play here. They had bathroom attendants so the line flowed nicely before the show began.
We saw the traveling Broadway performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The set, actors, effects, costumes, and stage were all the best I've ever seen! They did quick changes, had pyrotechnics, invisible strings, puppets, moving stage pieces, moving set pieces, illusions, etc. The actors were amusing enough and did well with what they were given.
The script was the worst I've ever seen. I wrote a better Harry Potter fanfic play in the 4th grade. I'm not even joking with you. It was uncreative, uninspired drivel. The two fools who wrote it didn't even read the source material, I guarantee it. It's like those imbeciles got high and wrote it in an hour as a joke and then submitted it to a publisher full of people with no braincells. And JK Rowling has no creative integrity because her ass signed off on it and took the money like the greedy person she is. It was the worst fanfiction I've ever seen. I've read better fanfics on fanfic sites written by literal high schoolers. Appalling. 😑
But it was a fun time! I don't regret going because the technical part was so good. We also got rush seats for $30 each and sat 5th row right on the aisle. Ticket master has those listed for $150 each. If you don't mind getting tickets 30 min before the start of the show, I would recommend...
