I have already reviewed the hamburgers that Shake Shack offers in my review of the West Hollywood Shake Shack. The quality and taste is the same between both of these locations so you can read my review of the West Hollywood location if you are interested in how I thought Shake Shack and In & Out Burger compared to one another (hint: they are quite different so any comparison isn't going to be fair to either chain). Needless to say, the burgers at this location is just as outstanding as in all Shake Shack locations. This time around I decided to try out the Chick-n-shack chicken sandwich and b out am I glad I did. This is one really good chicken sandwich. They coat a thick chicken brest in a mildly spiced batter and fry it to a beautiful crispy golden brown. Someone had posted a picture of their chicken sandwich for this location and I found that picture to be a perfect representation of the chicken sandwich I received. You might notice that the color of the fried coating looks perfectly even (almost too perfect) and that is exactly how my sandwich looked. It was chicken perfection in every bite. Crispy on the outside and wonderfully moist all the way thru. I also decided to try their original Shack lemonade instead of a shake this time around. Their shakes are heaven sent but my waistline and wallet might start to disagree with that if I start drinking too many of them. Their lemonade was really good and is now my second favorite lemonade. Louise's BBQ still serves up my favorite lemonade which very safely sits in a league all its own. This Hollywood location is just as modern, hip, young and stylish as the West Hollywood location but is a bit smaller. I would estimate that there is a bit less than half the interior dining space at the Hollywood location when compared to the West Hollywood location. They do have a fairly large outdoor patio though and the patio is offset back and away from Hollywood Blvd enough that you tend to forget that there is a busy street about 50 feet away. The patio is offset from the boulevard enough that I find that I prefer the patio dining over the interior (weather permitting) because it is more peaceful and tranquil. So grab a few friends and enjoy a warm early evening on their patio with good friends and good food. You won't be disappointed. I almost forgot. They are a little bit pricey (I can have two full meals at In & Out Burger for what one full mall costs here) but all of the stylish design does come at a price. That is why I rate them at 4 instead of 5 stars. The service and good is 5 stars all the way but I am not sure it is entirely worth all of the added cost. FYI - For some odd reason Google Maps is indicating that the Hollywood Shake Shack is located behind the Dunkin Donuts. While the address is correct, Shake Shack is not located behind the Dunkin Donuts. It isn't even located in that same building (multi-building complex). Shake Shack is located in the next building east of the building that Dunkin Donuts and the CVS Pharmacy is in. The entrance is right on Hollywood BLVD do you...
Read moreI ordered a the bourbon bacon sandwich here and poured to the picture I was talking right in front of the register to confirm my order. I got home and realized I was given the sandwich with a beef patty. No big deal! I go back over to clarify there was a mix up. The lady at the register immediately tries to get into an argument…which I’m confused about since I’m not angry or hostile. She says that I got what I ordered. And I’m trying to explain that I wouldn’t have ordered the sandwich like that because I don’t like most red meat and I point to the same picture from before. She continues to argue while I (the customer) am trying to deescalate the situation (we’ve all had rough days at work). She finally gets the manager and I hear I her tell I’m I’ve ordered one thing then changed my mind…I let it slide. He asks me for an explanation. I explain. He acts very put out but agrees to redo my sandwich. They then proceed to walk into the open kitchen and announce multiple times that I’ve changed my mind on an order and want a chicken sandwich. I get the sandwich with the outside of the box covered in grease and sauce and all the things I’d asked them not to put on it on the sandwich. Needless to say, I won’t...
Read moreGOOD FOOD- NOT ENOUGH SEATING True, I went on a high traffic day - SATURDAY- and in the summer- but there were so many frustrated people looking for seats that this was definitely impacting the dining experience of everyone else lucky enough to have a seat. In the 30 minutes we were there, we were aoproached 3 times by people asking us if "we are leaving soon". Several other people were just scanning all of the tables waiting to grab a table the second someone left. The food is reasonably priced. We ordered Classic Cheese burgers $5.79 but they are small and don't come with frys. Burgers were quite tasty. They also have a free self service water station with small plastic cups so you can have all the free water you want. When you order, you are given a buzzerthat vibrates when it's time to pick up your food - a GREAT feature with such a crowded place. Restrooms are only accessible with the password at bottom of receipt and are very small for all of the customers. There is seating outside and inside. Overall, I think this would be a great place to try on a weekday, but unless you are willinh to wait and fight for a table ,I would not recommend visiting on a...
