I wish there was a NO STAR option so I would give this place a 0 star. The guy who introduced himself as the manager of the mall is so rude and unprofessional. His name is Bryan Kim as per himself but I still doubt he mentioned his real name, and of course he did not have a name tag nor a professional outfit. My story of this place is all about this guy and his perky action. I parked my car right on the front parking lot of this market when I heard some one yelling from almost 20 feet far from where I was saying: " you can not park there"!! Being shocked and frightened, I realized he was talking/screaming at me!! When I asked why I can not park here he said "because you do not want to go to the mall and instead you wanna go to the next door business" . Well the next door business looked to be busy with many cars looking for a parking spot on that day. I explained to him that I want to shop in the market but he said if you leave your car here "I will have some body tow your car." Long story sort, This person has thought I just wanted to use the market's parking lot only and all I could reason for myself to figure out his crucial action's cause was because this market is an all-Asian product market and almost all of their customers are Asian people, and of course I am non-Asian. Well I finally stepped into the market looking for the grocery store but in 2 minutes later I noticed he was following me into the market and checking upon me still!!! I returned to him asking what was his title in the market (well he did not even introduce himself when he yelled outside the market) and name and the reason he was chasing me. He answered:"yes I am following you and checking you and you have not bought any thing from here". He also ended up with yelling at me again saying you can call 911 and asking his security guys taking a picture of my car. He followed me step by step until I decided to abandon shopping at the market and came out of the mall. I have been passing by this place so many times and I always wanted to stop by this place and take a look at their stuff, but the experience that I went through today made me never ever want to be back here again and I do NOT recommend this market to anyone. Even the best businesses deserve no customer when being managed by such an incapable, harsh,...
Read moreI live a few blocks north near Vermont and 1st. This is a clean, well-organized supermarket (with the emphasis on Super) that carries many Asian specialities, with a clear focus on Korean food. Like Costco or Whole Foods, there are many tasting stations. You can find organic produce and other products, a whole range of rice and noodles (including fresh refrigerated noodles), multiple forms of kimchi (including a deli version, and about ten linear feet of refrigerated kimchee).
I'm a white guy who loves Asian food, and visiting this store was like going to a different country, just up the street (I've been to Beijing and Japan, so it is not a completely naive experience). I didn't get a chance to try the in-store fast-food place, but will be back.
This is a much more pleasant place than the Seafood City on Vermont (just next to where I live), and there are several shops in its Galleria (cleaners, the aforementioned quick food deli/restaurant, a Tom & Tom's coffee, yada yada), and the free parking structure makes things...
Read moreI personally enjoyed this Galleria location in the heart of DTLA, it was clean with ample deals must be because of the new year but still very reasonably priced Items, got some porridge, banana milk shake, Turtle Chips by Orion both the corn and churro chocolate flavor, fish sausage cake, tteokbokki, premade meal of beef galbi to go. Check the prices as they ring up - Luckily I did, they tried to over charge me for 1 of the items. Customer service was good! Its DTLA and I get it but I didn't like the fact that they ask you to put your bagpack behind a counter. When we asked the security guard if it was safe there, he didn't really have an answer *missing star
I’m at a loss of whether Galleria is better than H-Mart both offer great deals, H-mart do have more hot food selection, both locations clean, H-mart did seem small and super cramped, I did like the ample seating at Galleria and the restaurant serving hot affordable food was soooo good. Which location...
