Starlight Nails & Beauty Supply — Attraction in Los Angeles

Entered the store looking for toner, fully aware that hair is not their specialty. I browsed the hair products, only finding dyes, developer & powder/cream lighteners.

I went to the cashier to ask for assistance, as I was looking for toner and didn’t see any, in hopes that they had a tint or something that can be added to lightener (my hair is mad brassy after bleaching). I mentioned toner in my first sentence, and before finishing I was cut off with a “Nope!” I stopped, and re-formed my question to ask if they had anything to counter brassy tones when lightening (moving to take my hat off to show my silver hair & brassy roots). Upon touching the brim of my hat, halfway through my sentence, I was cut off again with “Nope! Go to American store”.

I understand this store not having what I am looking for, but to be rudely cut off and denied any assistance whatsoever is infuriating. My lack of return to this store will bear no relevance, but if you’re looking for hair products, and assistance in finding what you need in that department, this is not your store. Thank you for coming to...

I went for the first time and honestly I was kinda shy about first going due to seeing so many review about owners being rude. The Asian lady at the front was so nice. I wandered the store for about 30 minutes looking at what I wanted and needed and then I finally broke my silence when I couldn’t find the nail glue so I had to ask. The lady at the front giggled and smiled and said oh that’s up here right infront of you! And I grabbed what I needed and made small conversation and asked how business was doing and she said very busy! I was about to pay when the lady gave me free nail files and gave me a magazine to the store to see what else they had. She was super nice and I left the store. She was super nice to other customers as well!

Overall I had a great experience. Maybe people just aren’t being kind enough...

Bad product!!!

They sold me an OPI gel base polish. 2 customers later I realized the OPI gel base bottle is FILLED WITH REGULAR BASE POLISH.

I did TWO clients that way and ended up having to do their service ALL over again for FREE. [[[[Only reason why a gel base bottle would be filled with regular base polish is because the store itself is skimping out on product by reusing bottles to fill them up with generic product. ]]]]

The top coat they sold me was cracking off my clients in 2 days. Im known by my clients for giving them long lasting results. I was so embarrassed.

I'm a nice person. 2 stars because the ladies there have never been mean or nasty to me.

BUT I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN, and I will be telling my people and employees to avoid this place.

Edit: NOW the top coat i bought is cracking...
