i absolutely love their quality and taste of food/dishes every time. a restaurant that feels homey and comfortable, and i always love the hot tea they provide right away. my mom and i have been going here for years, my mom before i was even born! only complaint is that in my most recent visit, i asked the lady helping us if we could order something from the menu. every single time i asked, even after waiting in between, she kept telling me in a loud voice "later, later". i ended up just eating what i got from dim sum, which tasted so good, but i'm a little disappointed the lady never came back to check in or ask if i still wanted to order. what's even worse is that other tables around me were able to order and had the dishes brought to them already. when i asked for my check, she said nothing to me. i really appreciate everyone's hard work for the quality of food but i am just puzzled why i was ultimately ignored when asking to order from the menu (it was around 11am or 12pm ish too). i hope it's not because i looked a certain way :( it's just odd. but will come back again always, just wanted to...

Cbs offers the typical Dim Sum menu and get this they even use a cart. It’s been a while since I’ve had dim sum but I absolutely love love it! Their menu is on the smaller side which I can appreciate!

Side story….. Last year, I was in Hawaii visiting family, my cousin told me that 7-eleven added lop Cheung Bao which translates to Chinese Sausage Buns, it’s an old school treat that one seldom sees anymore. The buns are made with fluffy steamed all-purpose Chinese bun dough with a delicious sweet, savory, salty link of cured Chinese sausage. I knew I had to get these in my belly right away. The first bite was heaven the sweet and salty combination with the somewhat greasy sausage that was soaked up by the dough was superb! On that trip I must’ve stopped at 7-eleven 5x..

Anyways, I was so happy to see that CBS carries these!! They also have a take-out side that sells dim sum for much cheaper because your not sitting inside with a white table cloth setting and enjoying tea. But now I know I will definitely have to come back for these and of course the shumai and they even have noodles for...

This definitely used to be a great restaurant at one point. It had successfully failed since my grandparents passed away. That should never be a factor, but I have dined here since the whole staff of CBS moved from the original restaurant of "ABC" I have dined here with family and friends. But when my grandparents passed away in 2000 and 2002, the staff had gave us the cold shoulder despite the history we shared with them. It takes more than an 30 minutes to get service and when they seat us, they will seat us near the smelly bathrooms or the kitchen. They show no decency for us. When serving our dishes, they make a sneer emotion on their face as they serve our dishes. I have never experienced so much "attitude" I am not the only one being served this way. I have had countless complaints from friends whom I have had recommended them to eat here and they have experienced the same service despite what nationality they are. I think the service here stinks and needs a new staff and ownership. The food used to be good, but the taste is just non-existant. I have more luck eating at panda...

CBS Seafood Restaurant The only thing I miss when I worked day shift is having dim sum after work. And our go to place is CBS. We go for the great food or else the cr@ppy attitude of the workers will surely turn you off. Love their siomai, short ribs in black bean sauce, and yang chow fried rice. We're all set. The complimentary hot tea makes a meal. Sometimes we get a canned soda. Parking can be tight. Hey this is Chinatown in DTLA. We're over it. Do not go during noon time you will pass out from hunger, coz they like to pile on the food on tables of locals who are already stuffing their faces silly, then leave other customers craning our necks for the next food cart to come by. There’s also fast food options and bakery beside it. I love their red bean bun, pork bbq bun, and steamed rice cakes. Although they sell most of the items in the restaurant, it’s not allowed to buy from the fast food section then eat at the dining area, it’s strictly “to-go” orders. Restroom can be a hit or a miss. Use at your own risk.

After the change of ABC Seafood restaurant to just a to go store front. This as been my go to for dim sum in Chinatown LA! I've never had to wait more that 10 minutes to get seated and the dim sum carts are very attentive to the guests so getting what you want is as easy as asking if it's available that day. Normally, they'll have most of the staples, but for a bit more or less popular things like congee, sautéed tripe, or veggie dumpings they may or may not have it. There are times they wont have it on the carts but they'll just make it per request (probably need to ask nicely ;)). Parking can be a bit complicated since their parking lot is a bit small, but if you're getting dimsum in the AM there shouldnt be that much of a problem to either get lot or street parking (just be mindful of the meters and street signs!). Theres also a pay lot accross the street so there's always something to fall back on if you want to just not deal with it!
