I'm a huge fan of public transit, whether it's in town or while traveling. Sadly, even while a few wags are joking in their reviews about 'reviewing' this shuttle, the fact of the matter is that Android and Google Maps ignore and avoid mentioning it as an option, in favor of FORCING people to walk up and down a long, steep hillside, with almost no shade, often on hot, sunny days. Or encouraging travelers or those on a budget to save by taking public transit but then suggesting a ride share for this last quarter to half mile or so. And, of course, if you request 'less walking' or 'handicap/accessibility,' your map app still tells you to walk, as if this shuttle was an imaginary beast or didn't exist.
Wait time is short. Obviously, safety requires people being 'deboarded' properly and wheelchairs, as with any other public transit, will slow things down. But to me, and it appeared to most, it was a pleasant short wait.
They could use seating at the Universal Studios embarking area and having MORE chairs at the Shuttle near UC Plaza 10 tower/Lankersheim. The bridge between the Metro station and the Shuttle is a huge improvement given the...
Read moreIf you're parking away from Universal Studios or taking transit, this Universal Studios shuttle is perfect. It runs only between two spots, near the "Universal Studios/Studio City" Metro station and Universal Studios itself. There is room for plenty of people, and there are televisions to give you an idea of what to expect at the park.
There is a Skywalk that goes diagonally across and above the intersection, running between one of the metro station exits and the opposite corner. There are escalators to assist going up and down as well as stairs and elevators. Very convenient for crossing the streets safely.
At Universal Studios, it stops just outside of Universal CityWalk. This is an avenue of stores that does not require admission. Stores include Hot Topic, Billabong, an AMC theater, and...
Read moreIn a world where bus takes you up a hill and then back down again, it's the Universal Studios shuttle bus. Coming soon to a shuttle bus stop near you. I mean really it's a bus. Why do we need to review this? I mean seriously like we have to start questioning ourselves as a society if we've gotten to the point where we feel the need to review shuttle buses. Am I right? I mean I hope I'm not making too big a deal out of this but I think this is kind of crazy. It takes you up the hill and then it takes you back down the hill. What more do you want from a shuttle bus? Like oh well it was good but you know the Disney shuttle bus had a Ceviche bar. What? No, you're not getting these 30 seconds back but that's your fault for reading a review about a...
