This is tricky to rate (reasons below)… It’s a thrill ride, and understandably frightening to some young riders, but it’s fun!
We lucked out with timing and walked on, which was a relief knowing we had 90mins (one time per person per day) for mandatory lockers.
The queue’s ok. The “tomb” gives Indiana Jones vibes. Our first ride was fantastic. The funniest thing was a kid behind us at the end yelled, “I HATED that!” Plus, offloading’s slow, so he frantically said, “Let me off! Let me off!” But wow, does this ride ever end quickly and abruptly!
Rating is tricky because our first ride was great, we got pulled a bit, but nothing compared to the second time. We got tossed hard, I felt very motion sick, headachy, and nearly vomited. Perhaps, the trick is riding once, waiting, then going after a bit. Personally, I’d take Indiana Jones over this - ride with caution!
*Motion sickness potential = high. If you have a history of whiplash or concussions, you might want to sit...
Read moreThis is a fun roller coaster that I'll always ride when visiting Universal Studios Hollywood.
The Mummy movie Theme is propped well at the beginning and the stopping point of the ride. You don't see it for long because after you turn the corner you are shot into the pitch dark track. You're traveling at high speed in total darkness except for a few mummy light props until you reach a stopping point. From there, you travel backwards at high speed down the rollercoaster back to the loading area. This is a very short but exhilarating and entertaining roller coaster.
FYI. You'll have to stash your backpacks, bags, etc in the free lockers at the ride line entrance. Since the ride is so short, the rider turnover is very quick. Every time I visited with an Express Pass, I literally just walked right up into the loading area. Fantastic. Highly recommended and don't forget that Express...

I used an express pass and again bypassed the main queue. We zipped through our express lane so quickly that I did not even soak in all the details. But I got to ride several times without waiting. The hieroglyphics are said to be accurate. There are holes in the wall which you can put your hand into if you dare.
Staff will ask you to store large bags such as backpacks. There are storage lockers. But it was a bit of a fiasco area. There are four locker instruction terminals with each one handling a set area of lockers. The lockers open using fingerprint recognition. My terminal was having issues recognizing the fingerprints. It took me and the two strangers in front of me several tries and long...
