This place is conveniently located within walking distance to Universal Studios. It is about a half mile walk. Also there is a great donut place,a taco place, fat burgers, and subway, just up the street. I like walking,so this seemed like a great place to try. They also have a gym and a pool. I was disappointed, because this place is filthy. I was surprised, cause many of the reviews are good and state how clean it is,and how nice the bartender is. The front desk staff, is meh. Some just blatantly ignore you,or are dismissive, when you express your concern/ issue. Some staff are actually personable, and acknowledge that you exist. After you reserve and pay online, there are still additional, incidental fees.🙄parking is 34 dollars a night. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and quiet, so yay for that. I stayed on the 3rd floor, the hallway smelled like urine, chemicals and smoke. Thankfully the room didn't stink. The walls/ especially around outlets were scuffed up,dirty, with chipped paint. Seriously, did no one teach housekeeping ,how to wipe a wall? And no,they clearly never heard of dusting, there was a thick coat of dust on the wood decor, and bed headboard. It just looked so unsanitary, I used antibacterial wipes and wiped down everything, before myself or my belongings touched any surface. Worse than that, I pulled back the sheets to get in bed, and they had some gross stains all over, could've been poop, blood, puke, who knows, it wasn't touching my skin. So I had to use a flimsy phone, the cord easily fell out of,to call front dresk,to get new sheets. How the heck,is it acceptable to use excessively stained sheets to make up a guest bed? Who thought it was ok,to re use, instead of recycle or toss then? Ewwww!!🤢🤮🤯 The window screen to outside, was on the ground, so tacky. The place seems highly neglected. It says please excuse us while we renovate. But yeah, last time I checked, regular, consistently, and properly done housekeeping ,works! I could've easily walked into this same room, with no dust,no dirty walls,no disgusting sheets,no renovation excuses. I have stayed at quite a few places,as we travel a bit,and this is by far the worst place ,I have stayed. If it wasn't prepaid, and past the cancelation without penalty/ charge time frame,I would've checked out and stayed at the Sheraton. Sorry my camera phone is dark, the stains look much lighter, and dust doesn't look as thick in the pictures.

Almost awesome, but falls short. The marketing on their website makes it look great. But let me share what I wish I’d known. 1- CLAIM - 7 min walk to Universal TRUTH - 7 min walk under a dark freeway overpass to the shuttle station which then goes up the hill to Universal. 2- CLAIM - Indoor pool TRUTH - A portion of the parking garage was enclosed and locked with a door that your key card doesn’t open (desk staff has to unlock the door for you) to a 12x14 ft unheated pool that is about 3.5 ft deep. It was COLD. 3- CLAIM - Suites & Spa TRUTH - There is a sign that there is a barbershop on the premises. No other spa services are available. Suites are large rooms that used to be studio apartments, but the kitchenette cupboards have been removed. A pull out sofa is next to the king size bed. Single television in front of bed. 4- CLAIM - Parking available for a fee TRUTH - Parking garage has tandem parking, meaning that each parking space holds 2 cars, one in front of the other. If your car is parked in the back spot, you are REQUIRED to leave your keys with the desk staff in case the car in front needs to move. You authorize the desk staff to move your car and re-park it. They charge you $35 per day for the parking spot. There are a few single car parking spots in the garage. 5- CLAIM - Bar/Lounge on site TRUTH - 10 ft. Counter on the far side of the lobby with 4 stools. OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: Pros: Desk staff was very kind, complimentary water bottles upon arrival, room was clean, bed was comfortable, tile upgrade in bathroom looks nice, room was secure Cons: Weird shower faucet handle requiring extra instructions (see pics), no In room safe, key card only works for your room (not pool or garage door access), additional “resort” fee charged when there isn’t really a resort. Strong smell of pot throughout hallways, even though it was not as strong in our non-smoking room. I felt like it was overpriced since half of what they advertised was not 100% accurate. If original price did not have the additional fees of parking and resort fee, I would feel it was more reasonable, although I still didn’t like the parking situation.

When you first pull into the parking lot you see that there are tandem parking spots. If you aren't parked against the wall and are behind a car you must leave your car key at the front desk. At the desk they tell you about the $30 parking but they do not mention that you will be charged an additional $18 for service fee. So if you booked through a third party thinking you paid all the fees.. NOPE. We went up the elevator and once you get out there is an interesting smell in the hallway. I couldn’t even describe it. Room I can’t tell you what the smell was either but I was getting a headache. We closed the door and discovered the security latch was broken… cool I put a chair in front of it. Walk over to the window to see what’s outside… window was unlocked… no security screen. There is also like some time of walkway outside of the 3rd floor window so someone could’ve have gotten in if they wanted to. Hair in the shower. Shower head is a little complicated but they have a picture to show you what to do… no cold water. No matter how much you turn the temperature knob you only get steaming water so I felt like I was back home in Arizona. Walls are filthy… floor is filthy I didn’t want to walk barefoot so I put socks on and when I put my feet on the bed there was hair.. some type of crumbs or I don’t even know. I feel like the room is dark to try to cover some of this stuff up. Toilet makes a really weird noise. You can hear every door that shuts upstairs and down the hall way. Woke up and there was a spider hanging from the desk. If you’re late checking out the fees range from $599+ per person. I posted a picture of the fees. This place has such good potential but it needs A LOT of work. Downstairs has a nice it has a little bar and a little store. Workers are nice. Not worth staying though. Drive the extra 20 mins away from universal and pay about the same if not less of what they are charging. Even if it’s close I would NEVER EVER EVER stay here again.

First off the staff was extremely friendly and we were preasantly suprised how nice the lobby was, thats the only reason i gave the 2nd star. The hallway to our room smelled disgusting. We went into our room after check in and it smelled like someone took a massive shit and left it. We opened the windows and turned on the bathroom fan but it barely helped. We called downstairs and asked for a different room but was told they are fully booked, so i asked for maintenance and they never showed. We realized after a few minutes that the bathroom sink was the root of the smell. We kept the fan running and door closed the entire stay but the smell never went away. The room needs a lot of work too. It looks like they just slapped on some paint, put up previously damaged items and now charge essentially resort fees. Things were sticky and grimy, especially the fridge and countertops. Thankfully the sheets were fully clean and so was the bed, but the pillows are obviously old because they are lumpy and uncomfortable. The TV had a total of 5 channels but the remote was broken so it stayed on 1 channel our entire trip. We had a total of 4 people, but were give 3 face towels and 2 regular towels for all of us. The front desk acted irritated when we asked for extra, and it took over 2 hours to get the extra towels. We also asked for the room to be cleaned 1 night of the 4 that we were there and housekeeping never showed up. We called to ask for new towels and trash pickup on the 3rd night and again the front desk was irritated and showed up about an hour and a half later. The housekeeper dropping off was extremely nice though.

Our room was on the third floor that had a kind of balcony on it ( that we couldn't access). But creepily someone in the middle of the night was on the balcony moving maintenance stuff around. They need blinds or shades to cover the windows because the person could completely see through the cheap window covers. Overall it is really close to Universal, and about a 3-4 min walk to the shuttle, but we definitely would not stay here again. It's worth paying double the price for Hilton right down the road. We met some people at Universal who were staying at Hilton and they said it was super clean and...

Hello again. We are off yet again. My wife booked us in the BLVD Hotel for just over 2 weeks in Universal City.

Under normal circumstances the bar, spa, pool and other amenities would have been open but they were not, due to the craziness that is COVID-19. That said, I keepthat in mind and as those who read my reviews know, I'm fair on my ratings, I believe.

Nestled snugly on Ventura Blvd you will find the hotel. At first sight it appeared to be above par. We checked in early because of our early flight arrival. I always appreciate it when they will make rooms available as soon as they are available. Just so happened to be an ADA room but only one chair to sit on. Not a huge deal. The blinds are similar affective as in they block direct sunlight from coming in but no need to turn on the lights in the morning with the amount of light coming in. Not a huge inconvenience. The lights in the elevator are completely inoperable and flashlights are used at night. Again we were there for two weeks. Talked to the housekeeping staff to see about a towel exchange only to be told that the towels would have to be taken to the front desk to be swapped, this is a first. Like I mentioned before, the hotel is nice but a lot of little things begin to weigh on you after a while.

We arrived with reservations and a quoted price for the stay. Checking in we were told that there were extra fees. Asking what the fees were, we were told there is an $11.85 fee per day for additional cold steam cleaning. I haven't seen this tool in use the entire time. It seems like a way to push their losses from being shut down for so long on to their customers. I understand profit but this is gouging with no amenities available to back up the additional costs..

The front desk staff were great. I wish there was a little more visible security, especially after dark.

All in all the hotel was just an ok room. As always, if asked if I would stay here again, it would have to be after COVID-19 craziness is over but not until then.

Some good points a lot of little things that stick in the mind that bugs me. We might see you again until then we are off we are rolling east. See you along the long black...
