I was thinking of being the bigger person and not leaving a review but after a few months of randomly thinking about it I’ve decided to write a review a couple months ago I had the displeasure of attempting to play a legacy event at knightware upon waking in I was almost immediately confronted by the owner and confronted about being a caught cheating at another event after a quick conversation and me proving that I was never a cheater she revealed to me that one of her regulars had told her. After what I thought was progressive conversation I paid and waited to play which was only the start of my issues….upon waiting I was followed closely while browsing which was more than uncomfortable but I ignored her for the most part. Then the tournament starts I sit down across my round one opponent when then the owner of knightware comes up to us and tells me that before the start of every game I had to tell me opponent that I MAY BE a cheater from a rumor she heard which was absolutely insane and on top of everything she made the judge she hires for all her events watch me like a hawk after 3 rounds i couldn’t take it anymore and left safe to say I won’t be coming back for multiple reasons but if you like getting followed around and profiled this store...
Read moreThe owner of this store - a short person with close cropped hair who walled with a pronounced limp - was indescribably rude to me.
After spending 45 minutes looking through my collection - from 8 PM to 8:45 PM on the evening of June 14, they priced the cards they wanted to purchase at 83.50. Then, they lost their temper when I said I would prefer to keep my copy of Nadu and take $83 instead of parting with it for $0.50, raised their voice at me, and asked me to leave. This caused me to miss a scheduled dinner.
This is despite the fact that I had asked them several times during the transaction to please speak more quietly and stop interrupting me.
This store is a waste of time if you don't speak American English as a first language and/or you are not a deeply invested Legacy player born before 1976.
Additionally, in terms of board games, the owner only focuses on Warhammer 40K, and becomes hostile when asked about other table top gaming options.
I will consider myself permanently banned from this establishment, and suspect most other thoughtful, kind, and considerate people will...
Read morePros- Good location, on main street. Easy to find, easy access from freeway Surrounded by various eateries. Good selection of board games and MTG singles, among various other hobby items. Good staff, they are a bit odd but helpful and knowledgeable. Have decent space for tables to game.
Cons- Disorganized and cluttered interior, this place is a mess... Prices are nothing to be excited about. Lack of space in certain areas, notably around the cash register. It was very confusing when multiple people were waiting to purchase items. The locals who seem to live there are very awkward people but are usually cool if you get to know them. There are a few people here that are socially inept, and difficult to be around.
Overall Knightware isn't a bad store, its okay I think They have potential to be a great...
