My personal preference to go here, apart from taking my visitors to the north Venice Beach tourist attractions. Down here, south of the Venice Boardwalk, parking is easier, the bike path is much less crowded, less of anybody and everybody and more of the locals, just for the beach, pier and restaurants! From the Venice Beach Boardwalk, south of the tennis courts, the paved path extension of the walkway connects and combines in places with the bike path thru the residential Venice Beach, continuing down to Washington Blvd. The people along the beachfront path here are more orderly and less haphazard, than at the Boardwalk area beach paths, especially with the bike trail there. Bike rider’s and ‘boarders continue along, often going thru the marina (Marina Del Rey). Down this way, the atmosphere is less commercial and more subdued, with the beach and ocean here good for relaxation and meditation with the views, sunbathing, swimming, skimming, surfing and bodyboarding. The restrooms on average are cleaner and outdoor showers better and are available just to the south of the Venice Pier. Good restaurants with outdoor and now indoor dining line the street at Washington Blvd. There’s convenience grocery stores if needed also on Washington. A Venice canal view and walk is also possible from the second block of Washington, at the north side. The Venice Pier is under renovation, tho will be bigger and better than ever before! Parking is up to $18. on weekends at the foot of Washington Blvd. The alternative is with metered spaces along Washington Blvd for up to two hours. There also may be available street parking spaces along Pacific Av near Washington, tho because the surrounding area is vertical residential (limited space built upwards), parking’s at a premium right by the beach. My apprehension driving into a crowded scenario to park, meld in with all of the people (accepting of all behavior) and getting stuck in traffic jams on the way out, is considerably less here! While I do recommend the more northern beaches of Venice and Santa Monica to see for the associated attractions (Santa Monica Pier, Venice Boardwalk, Skateboard Park and Rec Center) and what they have to offer, the south end of Venice Beach here is not so much a ‘must see’ tourist hot spot, just a cool place to hang out…or hang ten...

🌊 Venice Beach – Where LA’s Wild, Free-Spirited Side Shines! 🎨🎸🏄 If you want to experience Los Angeles in its most vibrant, eclectic, and unfiltered form, Venice Beach is the place. From skaters, street performers, and bodybuilders to boho shops, ocean views, and an artsy boardwalk vibe, this place is pure California energy.

🎭 Why It’s Iconic ✔️ The Venice Boardwalk – A non-stop show of street performers, musicians, artists, and vendors. It’s chaotic in the best way possible. 🎶🎭 ✔️ Muscle Beach – Ever seen bodybuilders lifting under the sun? This is where Schwarzenegger made it famous! 💪🏋️‍♂️ ✔️ Venice Skate Park – Watch pro skaters pull off jaw-dropping tricks right by the beach. One of the coolest skate spots in the world. 🛹🔥 ✔️ The Beach Itself – Whether you’re surfing, sunbathing, or just taking in the ocean air, the vibe is unbeatable. 🌊☀️

🍔 Pro Tips for Visitors ✅ Best Time to Go? Afternoon to sunset for the full energy of the boardwalk and that golden-hour glow. 🌅 ✅ Parking? It can be tricky. Use public lots near the beach or park a few blocks away and walk in. 🚗 ✅ Where to Eat? Grab tacos from Great White 🌮, an acai bowl from The Butcher’s Daughter 🥣, or a classic burger from Hinano Café 🍔.

🔥 Final Take: Venice Beach is wild, artistic, and unapologetically LA. Whether you're people-watching, skating, or just soaking up the sun, it’s an experience like no other. Come with an open mind, and you’ll leave with...

Venice Beach in Los Angeles is one of the most vibrant and diverse beaches in the area, known for its unique character and rich culture that attracts artists, musicians, and skateboarders from all over the world. Unlike Santa Monica Beach, which is recognized for its calmer, more upscale atmosphere and the famous Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach stands out with its lively and open environment. The Venice Boardwalk is filled with street vendors, graffiti art, and live performances, offering visitors a taste of local creativity and spontaneity.

What sets Venice Beach apart is its iconic boardwalk, where you can enjoy live music, street art, and a variety of eclectic shops and cafes. In contrast, Santa Monica Beach is more family-oriented, with tourist attractions like the Ferris wheel on the Santa Monica Pier, providing panoramic ocean views.

Overall, Venice Beach offers a unique cultural experience that embodies the free-spirited and vibrant soul of Los Angeles, making it a distinctive and exciting destination compared to the tranquility and elegance of Santa...

The beach itself is the same as Hermosa or Redondo, if you walk around a bit, it's different... Long and wide sandy beach, big waves and playing in the sand. No real swimming, just surfing and wave jumping... Very interesting for children. All around there are bars, fast food and restaurants. Next to the beach itself, the entire length of the coast is great for skating and rollerblading. There is a large parking lot right next to the beach. It is recommended that you settle on the part of the beach closer to the lifeguard (there is plenty of space) and that you do not try to swim over the waves and go further, if you succeed you will only be in trouble. So grab a small board and head for the waves or build a big castle in the sand!
