Rooms are exceptionally small, but equally exceptionally clean. This hotel is perfect for the budget conscious traveler with a maximum of one other person. Employees are very nice and will go out of their way to help if there's a problem or question. While upgrades would be beneficial, such as televisions, lamps, and lighting inside the stand up shower (no bathtub), for the price of the stay it's okay. You're at the beach in Cali, you shouldn't spend a lot of time in the hotel anyway. The rooftop views of the sunset are perfectly picturesque and there's a nice secure patio on site. Parking is exceptionally limited, so if you don't need to drive - don't. The area around the hotel is somewhat questionable, but as a couple locals said, if you don't have drugs to sell then the questionable people will leave you alone. We never felt unsafe at the hotel.

Charming and homey with cheerful and attentive staff, this boutique hotel is right on Venice Beach’s boardwalk. Our clean and well-maintained, cozy, comfortable room had large beds, lots of windows, a small but well laid out bathroom with a large walk-in shower, a refrigerator (tho no coffee maker), tv, and room safe. The hotel has 2 lovely areas for beach viewing: a rooftop deck and a large secured patio, both furnished with ample seating and tables. It sits in a residential area a block or 2 from a restaurant/shopping area in one direction and a short distance (3000 steps) in the other from Muscle Beach, the skate park, souvenir shops, tattoo shops, & walk-up take-away counters. Only drawbacks were no elevator, limited parking, and no food available on site (common area microwave and ice maker were available, tho). Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay!

My husband and I check in for 3 nights and we love it. The beach is so close that you could hear the waves. Night time is quite, there is no bums roaming so it's safe. There is rooftop and a patio to chill. You can hear people passing on daylight talking outside but I'm not bothered with it cause we're not always there in our room. The bathroom is small but decent. It can be hot in the evening even with the window open so we don't use the blanket and it will be fine, and this is December too. The price for an oceanfront room is 200 and I think it's worth it. People at the front desk are nice and accommodating. Parking your car will be difficult because they don't have enough space and you have to pay 20 dollars for a reservation. Well, that's it. I would definitely come back if we ever miss the beach.

Venice on the beach.|This hotel was the worst disappointment of our 4 week holiday.|The first disappointment was the reception clerk saying that there was no parking space for our car on the hotel premises, so we had to park our car on the public road. This was told to us by the most uninterested and rude reception clerk, we have ever met. There is no elevator. Then we entered the room where we were attacked by a thick gloric smell that made me instantly sick for 2 days. Then we found the earplugs on the nightstand, that says enough on it own. Then we wanted to load our telephone / computer, where the sparks came out of the lose hanging socked from the wall. In the room only 2 sockets. Very dangerous! The bathroom was another disaster: grotty, dirty with cracked tiles and dirty corners. Therefore shower with your eyes closed and pray for the best. The internet-wifi is either very very slow or not working at all. The heating / airco is not functioning so we had to sleep in a very cold room. The safe was locked when we entered the room and was therefore not usable for us. No fresh towels are provided during the stay and the rooms are really noisy, you can hear the neighbors literally. All in all: a big disaster and a big NO-GO, avoid these hotel premises! Hopefully the bed bugs have not found this hotel.|You can go up to the reception desk with this list of malfunctions and they might solve 1, 2 or maybe 3. Though for the price this hotel charges, you want it to work...

I love this place. You couldn't find a better location if you tried and the views of the beach and sunset are just beautiful.

We had read about the area being unsafe but what a load of rubbish. We happily slept with our windows open and didn't feel anything but completely safe all the time we were there and nearby. If you walk all the way up towards the SM end of Venice beach then yes, i wouldn't fancy being out late at night (but that is only my perception). This end of Venice is just lovely.

Charlie and the blonde girl at reception area both really helpful and friendly, and were loved helping ourselves to the fab coffee, bagels, cereal and fresh fruit on a morning. The roof area is a lovely spot to sit and eat, drink or just chill.

Location wise, you walk straight out onto the beach, which is not busy as you would expect, I guess because it is so vast, there is endless room for everyone. It's also less than a 5 minute walk to some great restaurants, bars, shops, and general Venice atmosphere.

The only room for improvement i would say is the shower could really do with an upgrade. Everything else is spotless, fresh and modern so this really did let it down. The room (a standard) was a bit too small for our liking but i will just be sure to go for a bigger room next time. Because without a doubt there will be a next time, this...
