If you're seeking a spot for kids to play in the sand and relax under the sun safely, this is the place. However, be cautious: the water isn't safe for swimming, being among the most polluted in all of California. My kids splashed around a bit, but we made sure to shower them right after.
Despite the water quality, we genuinely enjoyed our visit. The proximity to the car park is convenient, and the amenities are top-notch. There are picnic areas, clean restrooms and showers, a kids' playground on the beach, and a beachfront Cheesecake Factory with a fantastic marina view to boot!

We visited a couple of days and stayed conveniently at the beautiful Marriott (I’ll save that for another review)! There are an assortment of outdoor activities within walking, biking, and driving distance. We will be back to visit this area soon again for more bike riding, Sunshine, and good vibes. We were there during stay at home orders and noticed a much quieter scene, with masks strictly enforced by beach patrol, and all indoor dining closed. We are very looking forward to coming back with some sense of normalcy...
