While visiting downtown Louisville, we decided to check out the visitor center. After seeing a wax figure of Colonel Sanders online, we were really attracted to this place. A little bit, disappointed that it was no longer there, but the place was fantastic no less.
Free admission and focusing on The Kentucky Derby and all things that make Louisville popular, especially their bourbon, this welcome center brought it all to you!
The furniture and colors were right on point! The deep colors really pull in that “speakeasy” feel 🥃
Lots of awesome items having to do with the area. Muhammad Ali newspapers, Kentucky Derby horseshoes, a large cabinet of bourbon and even more!
You can purchase Kentucky Derby Hats, Louisville Items, small trinkets, stickers, local wares and bourbon balls.
We grabbed a few postcards, bourbon balls and new found knowledge of the area.
The workers were very helpful and pleasant. Genuinely interested in where we were from and what brought us by.
Highly recommend a stop!

It was a quick visit, as it should be. I just stopped to get a few brochures of places I wanted to go. So, it would be 5 stars for the two exhibits and all the plethora of brochures, but knocked it down to 3 stars because the NUMEROUS greeters/employees/volunteers walking around inside as you visited were quite annoying. They kept asking questions, asking I needed help or specific information, when I tried every type of body language to convince them I didn't want to be bothered. The highlight was going to be a picture I wanted to take with Kernel Sanders, but one of the greeters kept walking around near me, watching me, so much so that it made me uncomfortable and I had to get out of there. I had a experience early morning hour 2:00 am to 3:00 am ,I came to the 4 th st to see what was up after having the strength to ,when wanting to enter the security gave me A HASSLE ABOUT MY id ASK PASS WITNESS TO LOOK AT WHAT i HAVE IN MY HAND AROUND THE SECURITY AN WHAT WAS i HOLD ING MAN CLAIM ID THESE TOW THAT STOP WAS BLACK i AM BLACK.
