Summary: Do not stay here, not worth it!
Pros: Hospitality of the staff Bartenders make amazing drinks, truly DELICIOUS!!! Valet staff were very nice and quick The view from our room was beautiful (we were on 13th floor) the view was probably my favorite part Speakeasy was a cool atmosphere, staff in there was very nice
Cons: Streaming on tv constantly reset while watching Leaking AC unit made carpet wet/flooded. The hotel engineer came was very nice and fixed we had to have a very loud fan on the whole night to dry the carpet up. However, he did offer another room but it was already 11pm and we didn’t want to move everything.
Upon checkin already being booked through third party, the front desk woman somehow charged us as if we were booking new reservations. So we were DOUBLE charged for our stay. We caught it while still there and talked to the front office. The girl said she would call the credit card company and ask them to release that hold and let us know. She texted us that night saying it will be released and an email should be coming shortly from her showing that release. Never got the email. Next day we had the receipt statement now showing that we were gonna be charged not that entire $663 amount BUT a random room charge of $231 with the two valets. The valet charges were correct but we didn’t know what that additional $231 was. Upon checkout we went to the front desk to make sure it’s corrected before leaving. They said the 2nd person from the front did the “correction” wrong. So now this is 4 people (manager helped on the 3rd interaction) who have had to edit or fix our reservation upon our stay. For a two night stay. Is this something I want to deal with on my hard earned vacation? It brought undue stress and was very disappointing. I asked for a receipt to show that we will only be charged valet (as we should as we prepaid the room like I said through third party). They gave me a receipt and we left. We ended up being charged the two valet and that is it, they did not comp anything for all of the troubles we endured for our two night stay, not that that is what we were seeking but it would have shown that they were trying to make it right. They did not. Rooms weren’t the cleanest… saw a used qtip by the toilet upon entering, bathroom counters didn’t look like they were cleaned or wiped down as there was leftover residue on them. Didn’t look like they vacuumed we saw random wrappers on the carpet that wasn’t ours. Beds and pillows were ABSOLUTELY uncomfortable. Both my husband and I woke up with back pain because of these beds. I did not get more than 3-4 hours of sleep both nights we stayed there. Come on, for the prices you charge the beds should atleast be comfortable. It’s super stiff. Had to get a massage because of Omni. Poorly designed shower, the crack on the bottom of the glass door seeps water out as you shower, so when you’re done you are stepping into basically a puddle on the bathroom floor. Price gouging to the max of the restaurants and stores in the hotel, not having any true amenities for the guests or benefits to staying there. We ate at the neighborhood restaurant and it was not worth the price. The chicken tortilla soup tasted like Campbells soup quality but was $11. The rest of the food was decent, but I would’ve never paid those prices for that. The con huevos! In the hotel prices are more than the other con huevos location in Louisville. We went to the other location and it was Phenomenal GO THERE. A lot was closed as we were there (pool restaurant, bakery when we tried, coffee place, etc. Overall, we would never stay here again and if this is how Omni usually is probably won’t stay at this chain of hotels either. The one positive thing I can say is each staff member was very pleasant, I just wish they didn’t make so many errors on our reservation. If you’re planning to stay in downtown Louisville, I’d...
Read moreWe came up to celebrate our eleventh year anniversary and had a wonderful experience. Alston was the guest services representative that assisted us throughout our evening. During check in she was upgraded our room from a PREMIER KING to a EXECUTIVE KING SUITE. She was also kind enough to add on the couples package for us at the counter and enter it to be delivered at 2100 to our room. Alston informed us that the speakeasy and the library was open now for our enjoyment. She also went on to explain that the library was better for a before dinner vibe as it was quiet and the speakeasy was better for after dinner and that they have live music on the weekends. Alston also said she would check into our dinner reservations for Bob's steak and chop house when they opened at 1700. I received a text message from her at 1701 confirming out reservations for dinner and verified the delivery for the romance amenity.
The room was amazing and was better than we could have imagine. The bed was very soft and comfortable. The shower was very large. I would say from a design standpoint, it would have been awesome if the shower was more of a waterfall design that allowed water to be in a larger area. Water pressure was great and so was the amount of hot water. There were directions for the shower on the bathroom sink, but it was easy to figure out. City skyline was great to look out at during the night.
We went to the library and enjoyed the atmosphere, it was quiet and people spoke as if in a library setting. We went over the the Neighborhood Services Bar and Restaurant and ordered the BBQ Chicken Nachos and ordered two glasses of Meiomi. The nachos were good and wine exceptional. Everything was eaten prior to the thought about taking pictures of the meal for this review.
The food at Bob's was exquisite! We do not have any photos as we mandated that we would have no phones and left them in our room... at the table we realize our error. Our waitress for dinner was April and she was just as amazing as Alston. We started with some of the lobster bisque which if dipped with the bread they provide is amazing. The misses ordered the rack of lamb with mash potatoes and I had the ribeye with the bake potato. Both were served with a large glazed carrot stick that was just as delicious as everything else. You cannot go wrong with having dinner in the hotel and it is highly recommended. We had some wine which was recommended by April and was just as outstanding.
Breakfast was at the Neighborhood Service Bar and Restaurant and it was just as great as everything else that was served!
There was a slight mishap later in the evening with the delivery of the romantic package. I called the front desk and Alston brought the package herself! She was apologetic, but I told her that I understand that these things happen and was in no way upset with her or hotel staff. I woke up in the morning to a text message that told me that the hotel wanted to pay for breakfast at the Neighborhood Service Bar and Restaurant. During the check out I spoke with the on duty manager and told her, I did not get her name, that I felt that was unnecessary and that we did not want to use the credit for breakfast AND I was ADAMANT that I did not want the hotel to apply the credit to our hotel bill either. I explained that our package was delivered regardless of the fact of it being late and that was enough for me. I paid for the package and I received it, but it was a very kind gesture for the hotel to feel that they needed to something to make it "right". That goes a long way for me.
Overall, you will not be disappointed with your experience at the Omni Hotel, Louisville and it was worth every penny that I am going to stay again when I come back for the PGA Championship at...
Read moreFirst, I say odd location, as it is central to downtown, but the surrounding buildings are not as in-step with this one. This was our first time staying at this hotel, and we hope to make it a regular stop when we drop our son off at college a few hours away. There is so much to love about this hotel.
What’s to love? Like most on Omnis, the hotel is elegant. Soaring ceilings in the lobby, big spaces and elegant fixtures. And, like most Omnis, this one tries to capture some of the grace and beauty of the city in which it resides. Certainly there are nods to bourbon, barrels, and horses, but it’s also elegantly done and although there are some rich woods in the rooms, it’s not infused with over-the-top dark wood elements.
The windows in my room were spotless! I love a nice view, but sometimes the windows have a few spots which compromise the view. I don’t know if they clean these things every week, but damn, those windows were spotless! Really enhanced my view.
The beds were comfortable with a wide variety of pillows. I enjoy a hotel which understands that we need different pillow types (from soft and squishy to more firm). Unlike some hotels, they did not offer a pillow menu, but I did not feel that they needed to because most pillow types were represented.
There has been much talk in some of these reviews about the pool being too small. If you really want to do triple flips and such, the pool is too shallow, but it is a very long pool. If you can’t find a place to relax in the pool, then, perhaps you just need complete solitude? It is a bit narrow, but not so narrow that it represents a problem. The Jacuzzi/hot tub was quite large.
We ate at one of their restaurants, but I will review that in a separate review. I did enjoy the fact that they had several bars and restaurants to choose from on the property.
What could use improvement? Two areas. My main area of concern is that we had a light that we kept on most of the night, very very dim, because my son likes a bit of a nightlight. He’s 18, but he likes a little bit of light at night. However, every time the air-conditioner would click on, the light would become very bright and then go out and then we would hear a popping sound, and it would come back on. This happened a dozen times throughout the night. So something is happening with the electrical. I notified the front desk upon checkout. We were only staying one night, so they did not have an opportunity to switch our room or to fix the problem, and that was okay. I did not notify them in time to do any maintenance. If we were staying another night, I’m certain they would’ve fixed it or moved us.
The valet is quite expensive. And they did not charge our Tesla. We were really hoping to have our Tesla charged because there were chargers, but they said that some people live there full-time (which I had no idea) and those people often are taking the chargers. This presented a bit of a problem because we had a long drive the next day and we had to stop one more time. I know this seems like a small problem, but from a luxury hotel, especially an Omni, I would expect at some point during the eight hours that we were there, they would’ve been able to charge it for an hour. They did say that they had a hard time locating the charger, but it was on the passenger side, so they did not look hard. We told them it was on the passenger side, and they said they thought we said driver's side. They also said they tried to call us, but they saw that the last name had a different first name, and they weren’t sure if it was the same person. So, even though my husband gave them our common last name, my first name was in the reservation, and for some reason, they could not...
