My fiance and I went to this eatery last night. We had been wanting to try and waited a few weeks to go. We went around 5:30-6 to make sure it wouldn’t be too busy as we had heard later it would be hard to get some of the cuts of meat. Let me say the service was great. Every server was super nice and willing to help. The salad bar was fine. They only have 3 sides you can order at the table (mashed potatoes, fried polenta and plantains) so they have cold boiled veggies on the salad bar. I would have expected to be able to order at least one side that wasn’t carb based that was warm. Most of the meats were exceptional. We only had them come by once with the filet mignon wrapped in bacon, the piece I got happened to be very chewy and fatty, but the piece he got was good. The ribs were very dry and we didn’t eat them. Both the sausages we got were extremely dry. The bacon wrapped chicken was also subpar. The chicken wings, teriyaki chicken, and most of the other cuts of meat we had were good. They also brought cheesy bread for the table which was good. My fiance thinks they should have a selection of sauces to choose from for the meats so when you do get something dry you can have something to add to it. They were sitting all the customers in one section, so we were in a section full of other tables that had people sitting at them with all the servers constantly going through, so getting to the salad bar was slightly frustrating. Overall I would say it felt slightly upscale, the prices were OK, but I don’t think we will be returning to this restaurant. I can’t justify spending $60 a person on a meal when many of the meats we got were just adequate. I may have had too high expectations, but I may recommend you go once if you’ve never been to a restaurant like this before. We also spent $13 on the lava cake dessert, and it was creamy chocolate warm cake, but it did not have any molten chocolate liquid in the middle. It came with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. If you are craving it, it may be worth the money,...
Read moreIf you've been to a Brazilian steakhouse, you already know what you're getting yourself into. If not, the summary of it is, you are seated and then left to make a salad at the salad bar, whilst food (primarily meats) are brought to your table and offered to your party either by the slice or by the cut.
The food is almost all good. Sides (polenta, mashed potatoes primarily) were served cold, while the fried banana was amazing. The chicken meats were almost universally overcooked. Not burnt, rather simply dry. Everything else was almost perfect in terms of flavor, temperature, and tenderness, with few exceptions. The smoked sausage, picanha, and top sirloin were the stars of the meats for sure.
The salad bar is pretty nice. Not the best one I've seen, but plenty of variety for most people, even going as far as to offer crackers and cheese, cilantro & lime shrimp, asparagus, and more.
Service is hit or miss, definitely determined by luck more than anything. Servers who brought the meats offered us special meat requests (I asked for the garlic steak in particular. 😋), and when our waitress disappeared 15 minutes into our 1 hour 40 minute dinnertime, one of the servers even offered to take my dessert order, AND THEN brought it to me! Our waitress was only present enough for us to tell her if we wanted drinks and whether or not we were familiar with the concept, and we did not see her again until the very end of our visit. To top it off, our waitress wasn't even the one to bring us the bill. Definitely some work to be done in the service department, but most servers were great.
Brazeiros is a great place to get your fix of Brazilian steakhouse when you're craving the experience and the food. It's not the best one out there, but the experience is still darn good, if slightly overpriced on a per-person basis unless you can comfortably fit 60oz of steak in your gullet; only then is...
Read moreWe were seated promptly , without reservations, at a two top in the corner by the windows, which was extremely drafty and cold with the vents running beside us. We had barely put our bums in the seats and the server was asking for a drink order, which I understand but he came off as pushy. Please offer the guest a moment to settle in.
I eventually ordered a “glass of Carmeneré,” which I thought was huge; to my surprise the server brought me a 9oz pour (a glass and a half) without asking me as I actually wanted a 6oz glass… found out when I got my check. I understand upselling as I am a server but that borders on shady behavior. He should have asked me first if I wanted a 6 or 9 oz glass. Don’t assume with someone’s wallet.
The food was inconsistent: the smokes sausage was perfect ; pork sausage overcooked, dry, inedible; the lamb cooked perfectly but seasoned heavily; and steaks varied from over-seasoned to under. The servers cutting the meat were only offering us the more cooked, seared, outside slices even though we kept asking for mid-rare and medium… my friend remarked that it felt like they were saving the inner pieces for other guests as we had to ask repeatedly for a slice from the inside that was without sear, which felt awkward. We also noticed how much waste that made for on our plates. Desserts were alright, tasted like Cisco products. My friend was excited about the crème brûlée, which had a strange artificial sweet flavor so she did not finish it.
I understand it’s 4th Street and this place probably survives on tourism, meaning many people won’t return yet there are always new customers. As a local though, there’s not much incentive to return for mediocre service and product, especially at this...
