To make reservations to bowl was really difficult. I had to call the hotel and provide my information to later be contacted via email to confirm my reservations. When we arrived the person at the podium directed us to go to the bar to retrieve our bowling lane. The bar was packed, and we had to wait a while to get an opportunity to speak with the bar tender in regards to our reservation. We when finally was appointed our lane, nothing was explained and bowling shoes was not available. The waitress was nice, but not attentive. The music was not loud enough to hear, instead we could hear the balls hitting the pins and our lane neighbor's conversation. This was not my ideal of a speakeasy bowling experience. The cocktails were okay and the steak eggs rolled were really delicious.

This is such a darling little place within The Omni Hotel. My coworkers and I decided to have a nightcap after a long day at the NACADA Conference and we were glad we did! There's a 4 lane bowling alley that costs $100 per hour to play. Not a bad price if you split it 4 or 5 ways. We didn't play but we enjoyed watching! The drinks were nice and I loved the ambiance! The drink menu was on the front and back of a bourbon bottle. Cute touch! However, my manager ordered the float and sting drink and hated it, but my coworker had an almeretta sour and we thought she may have needed a moment alone and a cigarette! She had that "after-glow" once she took her first sip! Nevertheless, it's a nice place and quite unique!

Speakeasy with a good selection of cocktails and dining options. Bowling, while not my thing, is an interesting option to have for people to do as well. My favorite option between the bars while staying at this Omni. I think it opened relatively recently. Biggest opportunity for improvement would be consistency in the cocktails. I could differentiate the cocktails made by different bartenders. Particularly apparent on old fashioned, with a wide range of sweetness.

Edit 9/2018: Funny I mentioned the staff, and after a few months I went in this weekend and virtually all the staff had turned over?! I had heard there were staffing issues but not sure why. Crowd had decreased quite a bit since last time as well (it was a Saturday night and not busy). So much for "upscale with a vibe bigger than the city of Louisville". No issues for me but it's a shame once again another new place that people are already over it seems.

Original: Love the staff here, great service and nice drinks. Atmosphere is great, upscale with a vibe that's bigger than the city of Louisville. My only criticism is pricing. Cocktails are priced average to above, $12-14. However the issue I had was being charged $12 for something like Kahlua?! Average price at 99% of places is $6-7 for a shot of that. Two shots would pay for a whole bottle here. The pour was good but still not justified. I will return but will be very mindful of what I buy. I wondered why so many were buying Corona and Mich Ultra and now I know why. If you go, go for...

We stayed at the hotel for a long weekend. As a night cap one evening we went to their speak easy Pin & Proof. Overall it was a very fun atmosphere. My husband ordered a glass of bourbon listed for $18 from their menu. When we went to cash out, we were surprised, as our bill was $28. When we asked the bar regarding the menu/bill discrepancy their response was “oh, that is because it’s really hard to find those bottles right now so it’s market price […] Blanton’s is normally $28 per glass but would probably be above $60 now”. We paid the $28 for the glass of bourbon, but overall we left with a bad taste about the bar because not once was it listed that menu prices were subject to change, nor mentioned to us that price changes were being made to their menu based on availability. We would have liked more transparency and hoped our waitress would at least have been upfront about these changes.

If you go, I would just caution that they advertise a price but those are subject to change without warning or disclosure to you...

Our bartender Allison was absolutely incredible. She knows how to make a great cocktail and is also very personable and attentive. The other bartenders were also amazing, but we interacted with her the most and she deserves a shout out. We were visiting from DC and are accustomed to craft cocktail bars along with the service that comes with them. We got a few cocktails each and were thrilled with them all. We also ordered a couple food items (Brie grilled cheese and meatballs), which were great. I recommend you come here a bit early when you can experience a bit more of the “speak-easy” type of vibe. Later in the evening on the weekends it becomes a little bit more club like. This can certainly be appreciated by some, but was not necessarily our type of scene. Regardless, the cocktails are great and the bartenders are fantastic. Highly recommend you go, get a craft cocktail, and appreciate the service...
