My recent visit to The GRUV was an absolute disaster from start to finish. I wouldn't wish this culinary nightmare on my worst enemy. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the staff at The GRUV had mastered the art of terrible service. Firstly, there was no one at the entrance to greet us or seat us. We awkwardly stood there, waiting for an eternity, wondering if we were invisible. Eventually, we took matters into our own hands and found a table, only to be met with menus that seemed to be curated from a collection of the worst recipes known to mankind. Our server, or lack thereof, was a phantom who never materialized. We were left to our own devices, fumbling through the menu and hoping for the best. The food arrived looking as though it had been prepared by someone with a vendetta against taste buds. Each dish was a culinary catastrophe, leaving us questioning whether the chef had ever encountered the concept of seasoning.
As if the dining experience wasn't bad enough, no one bothered to clear our plates. The remnants of our regrettable meal sat before us, serving as a testament to the lack of basic restaurant etiquette. It was as if the staff had collectively decided that customer satisfaction was an optional extra.
Venturing into the restroom was a mistake I won't soon forget. The state of the facilities was nothing short of appalling – a showcase of neglect and a testament to the management's disregard for hygiene. It was an odyssey through filth and grime that left us questioning the very standards upheld by The GRUV.
To add insult to injury, our presence with a seeing-eye dog sparked a disturbing reaction from fellow diners. Instead of embracing diversity and inclusivity, we were met with hostility. The blatant discrimination reached a peak when other customers audaciously requested that we leave, citing a desire to "protect" them from our service animal. It was an experience that left a bitter taste in our mouths, far worse than any poorly executed dish could achieve.
In conclusion, The GRUV is a masterclass in how not to run a dining establishment. From the complete lack of service to the abysmal food, unattended tables, vile restrooms, and the distressing discrimination we faced, this place deserves a spot in the annals of restaurant disasters. Save yourself the trouble and dine elsewhere –...
Read moreFirst let me say I was hesitant to go to this place only due to the horrible customer service we’d been getting in Louisville. HOWEVER- this place turned it all around! We’re browns fans (i know i know 🥺) + wanted to plant ourselves somewhere to watch the game! Once we arrived we sat at the bar + immediately got a greeting! We ordered drinks + kind of just took everything in before the game started. Few mins after the owner (forgive me for not remembering his name) came in! First thing I liked was how he started turning things on, straightening crooked signs + greeting guest. I’m extremely observant of my surroundings that people are always shocked what I end of being aware of. The bartender was very nice + communicated really well. Loved the diverse crowd, they had all the games on! My mother in law passed through returning from Nashville heading to Cleveland + stopped to have a drink/food w/us and she loved it! THE FOOD! Omg although it was only sliders were soooooo good haha! She got the burger sliders and we did the chicken sliders! SO SO GOOD! So much flavor lol Anyways- loved the conversations, coaching, introductions + customer service I witnessed! I even liked how the owner had everyone put brand clothing on. It made it so much easier to identify who works there.
We even stayed for 4 1/2 hours spent a lot of money there but all worth it for a great time!
Only downfall is that I wish they had more space because I want them to grow quicker + flourish! Also- upon greeting etc it would be nice to hear any game day or specials happening for the day.
If we’re ever back in Louisville this will be a for sure stop for us!...
Read morethis past Tuesday I decided on taking a very long walk through areas of Louisville I had yet to encounter as I have only lived here since June 1st and with my work schedule, I am usually "in the air" a good majority of my time. after walking for about an hour I came across what looked like a cozy little dive/pub. I live in A very tourist section of downtown and there was just something about just standing at the door that was telling me to at least go in and check it out. I was greeted by I believe the owner when I walked in and everyone was all smiles and very inviting. my drink or 2 were amazing, the bartender was a doll, the emoyees were hands on and personally took the time to walk up to me and introduce themselves, their position with the establishment, and I was even given my very own private tour. I think I found my new hangout and plan on watching my team (Buffalo Bills, on this Thanksgiving day) on at least one of their extremely large televisions today. I know they opened this past spring or so I was told but I can tell by the number of smiling patrons on a random Tuesday that they will be around for a very very long time! btw... 3 beef tacos for $5 on Tuesdays. can't beat that!!! looking forward to my next visit and their IT guy from First Impressions definitely made a great first impression for all. Big O... 💚 litl1. See...
