I originally contacted Tom Drexler for an estimate for a generator. Tam Le came out for the generator estimate and soon found a fire hazard in my electric box in the house, while checking my wiring for the generator install. Large rodent nest with chewed wires. He fixed the problems he found. Due to his thorough inspection, answering all my questions; I did sign up for the monthly fee membership. With that I get my yearly HVAC systems checked. Tam Le was very knowledgeable and showed me what he found and why he was checking.
Today I had my first inspection by Bryan Stephens and he did a thorough job also. Bryan was prompt, wore shoe coverings to protect my floors. He also showed and explained what he was checking and doing. They also take pictures while working.
Both men were polite and courteous at all times. I am pleased with the work that was done. I also liked the call before they came out and a text with a picture of the person coming out. Makes me more comfortable knowing exactly who to expect.
8/1/2025 Plumbing issue water dripping under the house, foundation cinder blocks are wet in the area. Calling for water issues now. Called early morning and was put on the list. I did get a call back at 3 pm letting me know it would not be today. I appreciated that call because it freed up the rest of my day.
The last time I had a water issue, the local plumber kept me guessing when he would show up for two days. The 3rd day when I called; he told me, he wasn't coming out.
So I was very pleased that Tom Drexler called me at 3 pm. They called me first thing the next morning to let me know I would be hearing from my technician when they were ready to come out. It wasn't long before Nick called me to make sure I was ready for him to come out. Then I was sent a text with Nicks photo, so I would know who was coming out. I really appreciate the photo since I live back in the woods.
I was trying to change my whole house water filter and was unable to get it loose. Nick helped me get the filter changed before he checked out my other issue.
The good plumbing job we thought we had in 2019, wasn't that good. The local plumber who had replaced all of our water lines, set-up the hot water on demand where it was draining the condensation under the house. We all know water under the house is not good!
Nick checked everything out under the house and then looked for the best solution to pipe that drip to a drain pipe (washing machine drain pipe was near by). The other issue was that drain was setup with copper fittings and flex pipe and should be PVC.
Nick gave me an estimate, I agreed and he went to work. As in the past the job was done well, the Tech cleaned up after the job and had me to run a quick wash to make sure the washing machine drain was not affected by the changes he made to accommodate the condensation drip from the hot water on demand system.
Nick also answered other questions I had and cleared up misconceptions I had been told previously by other people. I am glad I'm on their maintenance plan - $16.50 month. That saved me the $89 service fee. That $89 service fee is cheaper than the $100 I have to spend with my local plumber.
So, still happy with my service agreement and the work that...
Read moreTom Drexler came out on August 1st around 3PM. First off, I wanted to say that my system was working perfectly fine. I am fully aware that I am a little low on refrigerant, but other than that, it has been working marvelously. Anyways, they came out for the biannual routine maintenance for my system, which I was hesitant on in the first place, but I figured how could they mess up a system that all they’re doing is cleaning it? The gentleman came out, he was very pleasant and was telling me different things about the system inside of the house. Nothing is wrong with the system, it has been working perfectly fine. Even whenever it was reaching almost 100° outside, the system had been working like a champ. The service technician was at the house for just a little over an hour, and he cleaned the system inside and out. He took the cover off of the system outside, including the panel that covers all of the wires And cleaned everything which instituted him spraying it down with the water hose. After he left, we didn’t think too much about the system because it was only 80° outside but we had noticed less than an hour after he left, the temperature was rising in the house. We basically made an immediate call not even 12 hours later because the system outside was NOT working.
They said I would most likely be subject to an $89 service fee charge. They came out the very next day, on August 2nd and once again, tried saying that the reason why my system wasn’t working was because I was out of refrigerant. I was not out of refrigerant. The new technician finally started checking out my system. My contactor had stopped working (Which I am assuming is from the previous maintenance worker spraying it with water not even 12 hours prior?). But regardless, the system had stopped working right after the previous maintenance worker had messed with it and I was being charged $89 for what I feel like was their mess up.
Then the new technician told me that the $89 service fee would be waived if I had them fix the contactor which was almost $400. The contactor piece itself is maybe $20 from the store And 15 minutes of your life to fix it.
If the system had stopped working a couple weeks down the road after the maintenance cleaning, that would have been different. The system essentially stopped working right after the technician had messed with it and I am being shafted with a $89 bill Because according to the customer care worker, Tom Drexler was the one that diagnosed the issue. The issue that they caused.
Never again. I want nothing to do with this company except for a refund for...
Read moreWe’ve used Drexler multiple times in the past 3 or so years, even using the yearly subscription (before it became monthly). However, we have noticed over the last year the customer experience has… slipped.
Here’s how they earned a 1 star review. As a former business owner, I understand liability, insurance, warranties, etc. but it seems that their management is making decisions based on “liability” as opposed to meeting the needs of customers. No, I will not replace my 3yr old furnace because it got wet. Parts can be replaced.
When I purchased my home there was poor airflow in the front of the house. On the advice of a Drexler tech we replaced it. There was still poor airflow with our new furnace.
Occasionally when we were having work done, we’d inquire about the state of the air ducts and always asked for someone to go under the house and inspect the duct work. Finally, just about a year ago, a tech did. The duct was disconnected the whole time.
I resent the litteral extra thousands in lost energy bills and the fact that every tech I asked, including the techs doing inspections that were part of the service plan, did the exact opposite and billed me just the same.
The fact is that when I started contracting with Drexler, if I had an issue with anything hvac or plumbing, even on Sunday, they would show up and give me no less than two options on how to proceed. I would sign the liability forms and work orders, they wouldn’t leave until the job was done and I would pay them. Boy howdy, ain’t that old fashioned!
Yesterday, in the moment every home owner sees in the commercial, 4:30 on a Sunday morning, wake up to a malfunctioning furnace during a snow storm. What do I do? I called Drexler.
Tech shows up, sees less than an inch puddle, starts talking about policies and liabilities, and call the insurance company, have to replace everything, bla bla bla.
Excuse me? No sir. Here’s the expectation… thing happens, I call Drexler to fix thing. Tech shows up to fix thing and gives options. I chose option, sign work order and release, you do job, I pay, house warm.
What happened was I wake up this morning, furnace still out, house 45°, and wife emotional. Hooray for Google and YouTube! Now house warm and wife happy. Still out $90.
I was going to have Drexler do an estimate on a sump pump install but you know, let’s just not. Thankfully, Louisville is a city with plenty of HVAC and plumbing businesses. I’ll save myself money, time, and hassle and the management at Drexler won’t be liable. Peace...
