Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts — Attraction in Lubbock

While I enjoyed the art, I was there to see a performance by the Lubbock Community Theatre. The auditorium is not very large, so while all the seats are good, it can sell out quickly. The front-row seats are level with the stage; you won't be looking up if you choose them, so they are great for folks with visual difficulties. The front row is also wheelchair accessible.

The galleries are also good if, like me, you want to get in some walking during intermission. They are quite roomy, so combined with the smaller audience, I didn't have any problems getting in...

Sometimes, they have mind-blowing exhibits. Sometimes, they have the same stuff you've seen for 50 years in any art museum. Either way, we always go during the art trail and have a good time. I think that the really amazing art is always subjected to a conversation about whether or not our podunk city council is going to cry about it and defund all art in Lubbock over it.
